I think we U.D.O. and Accept fans are quite calm people, 'cause there's not much threads in this section... ;D There's at least one thing in the metal media which gets me angry. It is the neglect of U.D.O. and Accept. Fortunately there are some web zines which do not neglect U.D.O. and Accept. For example some print media are neglecting U.D.O. and (Accept). To this date it has been understandable that there are not so much stories of Accept ( not an active band, ofcourse now there is this festival season thing). Let's think of this international version of Metal Hammer (English). There were/are not so many news about U.D.O. And when U.D.O. visited Finland there were not so many stories about U.D.O. coming to Finland in Finnish metal media. There should have been some stories...For example I gave some feedback to the Finnish metal media Imperiumi and they bolted about that. ;D To quote Joe Schlared: "It's your problem if you can't accept ACCEPT, not mine. (1993)" That is a very good phrase.  |

it makes me wonder if u.d.o.'s record company even has a P.R. department. and if so, what the hell do they get paid to do??!! that's like stealing! if it wasn't for me being such a big u.d.o. / accept fan, none of my friends would even know that udo was still singing or had a band! u.d.o.'s promo in the u.s. is terrible. because there isn't one single piece of promo here!

That's the same kind of situation here in Finland. There are still some people who are surprised that U.D.O. is still around. .. ::)However this site www.bravewords.comis quite good in spreading the news. It has updates every day.  |

If I ain't totally blind there where no U.D.O concert ad's at all in Swedish (Stockholm anyhow) papers. But a local rock radiostation here in Stockholm www.rockklassiker.se had an interview with Udo where I heard about the concert, otherwise I would missed it. / Chipwreck |

It's always been the same  , except with the Accept shows. They had posters around the city at least on their Farewell Tour |

Well, usually there are no national advertising anymore.
But in both Eskilstuna and Västerås I have seen U.D.O. posters on Soplid, M&M and Thunderball tours...

Yeah, in my opinion it should be the local organizers of the shows = concert halls and clubs that take care of the promotion. We can imagine it being really hard for a band to take care of the promotion on a tour containing more than 20 different cityes.

I remembered that when UDO did Solid tour in Finland it was even a story and the picture of U.D.O. in Aamulehti (the 2nd biggest news paper in Finland), the same was when Accept were here in 1996. Nowadays, nothing...  |

U.D.O. is not neglected. The problem is UDO is not a product of a corporation. The band was not assembled by judges on a T.V. show. The music was written from the heart, not by what would make the most money. UDO doesn't Rap and as far as I know none of the members have appeared in court, been shot, or have married a sexy actress. Until UDO dances around on TRL/MTV and gets involved in a scandel they will just be enjoyed by a smaller audience for all the right reasons.

I think it's as simple as that money talks .
Since they're not mean and commercial ,they just haven't got enough money behind them.

i had wanted a forum like this for some time, but it just was never ok'd back in the day. but for some reason, the guestbook controversy actually, they emailed me and allowed me to setup this forum. i guess i could've just done it all along, but i didn't want to do anything like that without their ok on it.

About neglecting...now that it was news concerning Accept, it was even mentioned on a newspaper in Finland (Accept in Tuska 17th of July) and on Tv channel's text-tv. About U.D.O. there hasn't been so much news about their shows. I am really glad that Accept is regarded as a big metal band in Finland in the media! ;D
