I noticed Kaisa in one of the pics but where are you? It's strange to see a Les Paul guitar in ACCEPT

Accept and Iron Maidens in Tampere on 5th of February, 2023. So about that support band: as always Accept wants to give a good slot ( 60 minutes) for a support band. The Iron Maidens was good. I am not a fan of Iron Maiden, but The Iron Maidens had chosen a good selection of songs, i.e. songs that IM very seldom plays. I did not look for much info about the support band, but I was pleased to see Linda McDonald (Phantom Blue) on drums. I think she looked as good as in the late 80's. Most of the Maidens were quite good looking women and they surely knew how to play. Before going into the Accept gig I tell you that there was some sort of a pre-party with one of my friends: sauna, drinking and eating a great home-made pizza (not by me ). Then we headed for a local bar where I saw an old school mate of mine from the 80's ( 6 years at the same class room from early 80's 'till late 80's.) Well, I had seen this old class mate of mine properly in 1998 (UDO - Solid tour) previous time. In the years between we had been sending messages back and forth. Well, it was nice to meet him before the show. And ofcourse we hang together with him during the show, too. BTW, Juho was ofcourse at the gig too. And also other metal brothers of mine. I also met my metal sister, Kaisa, there too. The show started naturally with a Zombie Apocalypse and followed by Symphony Of Pain. During the first song the mixing sounded a little bit weird; maybe the drums were too loud. But luckily the mixer got the sound world to be near perfection before Symphony Of Pain started. I still love Accept's music, even though Peter Baltes is missing. Martin Motnik is a great bass player, but Peter is Peter. But since there is something wrong in the chemistry between Wolf and Peter I would take Martin every time to be in Accept, if the other choice would be that there is NO ACCEPT. During the show I got the feeling that the chemistry within the band is in good shape. Philip is also quite often in the front, while Martin and Uwe are mostly in the background. As far as it seems to me it does not bother the other players. And now there is a drum machine in Accept: Christopher Williams. He is indeed marvellous in beating the drums. And Mark: wow! He is 68 years old and I cannot hear that in his voice. In Tampere they played The Best Is Yet To Come, in Helsinki they played The Undertaker instead.I would have liked to hear them both but on that Sunday I was in mood for the ballad. Funny part: when Balls to the wall started, I went to a toilet to take a piss. Many people like to hear that song, but not me. So despite the line-up changes I really liked this Accept show a lot. It was far better setlist than on Rise Of The Chaos tour. I really love the newest release. The setlist in Tampere was as follows: Zombie Apocalypse / Symphony of Pain / Restless and Wild / Midnight Mover / The Abyss / No Shelter / Overnight Sensation / Medley: Demon's Night - Starlight - Losers and Winners - Flash Rockin' Man / Breaker / The Best Is Yet To Come / Shadow Soldiers / Princess of the Dawn / Fast as a Shark / Metal Heart / Teutonic Terror / Pandemic. Encore: Hung, Drawn and Quartered / Balls to the Wall / I'm a Rebel. Conclusion: in my mind Accept is in top form as live playing goes. I must also confess: to me Accept has always been the most important band there is, albeit in some times U.D.O. has made better albums than Accept ( for example Mean Machine vs. Eat The Heat). In some songs the trio guitar attack brought some more attitude/strength to the songs.

Thank you for the long awaited review mika! Glad that you enjoyed the day and night and that you met old friends there. Hope Juho is alright. That guy is missing from here. Is Kaisa the woman I know from FB, Kaisa Hirvonen?

thanks for the review mika. great job as usual. so glad you enjoyed the show. so it looks like you could get a jump on the traffic leaving the hall if you leave after Hung Drawn And Quartered. i'm also sick of BTTW and really really really sick of I'm A Rebel. i could go the rest of my life without hearing either of those songs again.
