Wow! So much for being able to hang out with the band after the show! 😁 Well, not an option yesterday.

Glad that you had a good time. Well, none of those three bands are my cup of tea.

2 weeks ago, i saw The Monkees. very geriatric show. complete with an intermission?!?
last week i saw Kiss. very entertaining show even though it was exactly the same show as i saw a few years ago. but paul's voice is so trashed that he can't even talk his typical banter to the crowd very well.

Saw Iron Maiden on September 29 and was an amazing show. My seventh time seeing them and for being the ages they are to see them running around the stage like they were and all playing tight. Went with my kids and girlfriend. My son fell asleep halfway through Maiden's set (he's 7).
Then, saw Scorpions on October 15, again with kids and girlfriend. The Scorpions were great with an entertaining stage show and a solid song selection (my only gripe being the absence of any Roth-era songs but that is no surprise as well as their changing the first verse of "Wind of Change;" I knew they had done that but frankly would have preferred they omitted the song from the set over changing lyrics to a classic song). Mikkey Dee was a highlight; his drum solo was surprisingly good and he included a tribute to Neil Peart by playing a well-known part of Neil's "The Rhythm Method" in his solo section. Everyone in my crew enjoyed the show though my son fell asleep again (though he stayed awake longer for The Scorpions than Maiden because he knows more Scorpions songs from local classic rock radio).

Hm... Didn't know they had changed the lyrics of Wind of Change. Strange thing for sure. What did you do with your sleeping son? Did you hold him in your arms 'til the end of the gig?

Well then. Yesterday I was lucky enough to watch .U.D.O. and Existance from the middle of the first row in Budapest, at the brand new Barba Negra Red Stage club. It is a semi-mobile concert hall with a tarpaulin roof and mobile walls that can be dismantled in the summer. There was no heating in the hall, so soon after I put my coat in the cloakroom, I ran to get it back I also reviewed the merch section, but seeing the 30 euro T-shirt prices didn't make me want to buy... Existance is a four-member band from France, one of the guitarists also sings. They gave an amazingly intense concert. Their songs were fully packed with long guitar duels - exactly the way I like I was also satisfied with their appearance on stage. Long hair, metal pins, black leather and chains. Need more? They ran around the stage a lot, filled the entire space, so they really exposed themselves. After an unreasonably long break .U.D.O. finally started their set. I could complain about the setlist or because the band members don't show a uniform image with their clothes... but I won't I won't, because it was great to finally see them again. Peter seemed to fit in well with the team. They joked a lot with each other on stage. As I saw it Udo was very grateful for the enthusiastic welcome. As I look at the song lists of the previous concerts of the tour, we Hungarians got 2 extra songs: Midnight Mover and I'm a Rebel. I guess they believed that if Udo and Peter were on the same stage again, the fans would want a little more dose of ACCEPT I was wondering if Peter still remembers me, if he recognizes me... I was having trouble with this, because the lighting was so bad that the spotlights shone almost all the way in my face, so I couldn't see much of the musicians. Almost only their silhouettes. But then during Princess of the Dawn, at the part "the midnight sun was rising higher" (exactly at the word "higher") we looked at each other and he nodded "Hello, yes, I recognized you" After Balls to the Wall, a technician ran onto the stage and took the microphone out of Udo's hand, as it was the last song at previous concerts. But Udo and Peter looked at each other in surprise, "look, it took my microphone", then Udo walked out after the guy to the backstage like "listen, give me back the microphone" Then came I'm a Rebel, which really was the last song. All in all it was a very good evening. It fully charged my batteries. Seeing Udo always has such an effect on me. After the gig I met Jeno Kellner, his sister, his daughter and also his father

At both concerts, my son just curled up in his seat but I did have to carry him out of the arena at both shows.

Thanks for inspiring review, Csaba.. Whats Your opinion about amount of people in Barbra Negra club? You're welcome Stas! Hopefully you can watch the show sooner or later The venue can accommodate 3 500 people. As far as I know, it was not a full house, but I think there were about 2-3 000 fans.
