Not a band, but an artist. I would say that Wolf Hoffmann's solo stuff has never disappointed me. He can always bring something special to the classical pieces. He is just about to release the second output, he didn't have time to disappoint anybody!

Anthem has never disappointed me. In fact, I find that some of their recent albums are every bit as good as the classics. Definitely a much more consistent band than Loudness, if you ask me.
1986 and 2006:
They're also releasing a new album this month. It's called Engraved, and it's their second album with Yukio Morikawa on vocals since rejoining the band earlier in the decade. Stoked!

This is a kind of evolutionary thing for me. When I discovered Manimal band, it had something good in their music, but something was missing - however they were promising. And now that I saw them live, I really fell in love with Manimal. So when discovering their talent one by one and after seeing they playing live, it was pure magic. Not the easiest power metal to get into with their some kind of prog influenced metal. I do not normally like prog metal, but Manimal does it the way that I like it. HOwever their main influence lies in trad/power metal.

I call it "surrender" or "sweet surrender" when I listen to a band or performer's music and fall more and more in love with it.
