Now there's a difficult thread. What band has never let you down? I'd like to answer Accept and U.D.O., but that's not the case, even thought to me these two bands are the best there are. However one thing I can say in which occasion UDO nor Accept have not let me down. In live occasion they are always been great, not a single disappointment. But album wise there are some disappointments. Accept has disappointed me three times and U.D.O. twice.
Now when I am thinking of bands which haven't let me down ever, there are not so many. Ofcourse it is matter of the releases, the more the releases the bigger is a chance to be disappointed at. However I can say two bands: Vanize and Dream Evil. Vanize have released 4 albums and Dream Evil also 4. They have always been able to deliver great albums. However there's also a chance that there's going to be a let down when the possible next record is out.

Interesting question!...and a very difficult one too. I need to think about this question. Spontaneously, first bands that comes into my mind is bands which never part from their style too much, as AC/DC and Motörhead. There could be slight differencies in style for those bands too, of course, but the differencies IMO isn't earth shaking. You know what you get as to speak. It's never a huge let down. From a different perspective, it's not that exciting either...I don't know...I need to think about it a bit...

It's a very interesting thread, Mika! There are two bands for me which have never disappointed me. These two are Rhapsody and Sonata Arctica. They always can surprise me I'd be glad if I could say the same about my best ever top faves of all time ever: ACCEPT and .U.D.O. But we all know the facts I also liked Blind Guardian and Grave Digger earlier but they've lost their way imo.

awesome question. as i've tried to think of a band, Accept would be the closest but there was eat the heat and predator. maiden would be close too, but there were the blaze days and fear of the dark. even w.a.s.p. was in rut back in the 90's and really sucked there for a while. helloween, no. grave digger, no. sabbath, no. ozzy, no. nugent, no. i just can't think of one!

A very good thread! and what's comes up to mind first is Iron Maiden. They have always released great records. The we have Iced Earth, which all their albums are straight through awsome. Even if their first singer was quite bad, still the albums with him are fantastic. Threshold has released 8 albums and even if some of their albums are far from perfect i can't say that they have never let me down.
Then i could also mention: Cage, Dungeon and Halloween.
Cage is going to release a new album next month so it can change.

That's hard to answer: ACCEPT - had Predator and ETH JUDAS PRIEST - the Ripper years, oh my god... AC/DC - weak Stiff Upper lip and no album since 7 years SAXON - the mid-80's mainstream era RUNNING WILD - The Rivalry...weak album imo GRAVE DIGGER - all of their albums have a few very weak songs U.D.O. - Mission No. X MANOWAR - Warriors of the world and the new record, weak albums KROKUS - see Saxon above so I have to say: VANIZE! They never let me down, but unfortunaly I can't get RAW here in Germany.
