She learned it at school. There's a huge international folkdance and folkmusic festival in our town every summer. She was a folkdancer earlier so she always met dancers and musicians from Spain and Mexico. Hearing those people talking she fell in love with your language - that's why she chose Spanish to learn ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Yeah man!! That's great. It is a "hard to learn" lenguage... but you fell in love with it later on (my foreign friends all say the same ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) An small tip for her; learn spanish from Spain / spanish teachers (sounds obvious...). The mexican spanish is quite different. Let me explain... some of their words or phrases can be misunderstood by us!! LOL. Yeah, a verb in their "spanish" can mean something completely different to us. For example; when they say "manejar" (to handle) they mean "to drive"... and "manejar" means to us "to handle" (to handle / to use something)... so you can imagine... it can lead to make some mistakes when spaking it later on ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) Feel free to ask me for any doubts ok? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I'll try to help you.

Spanish spoken in South America is like a "bad version" of Spanish, except for Argentina where they talk closer to us.
But in Spain too it depends on the zone, people talk in a better or worst way. I suppose it happens in every country.

Haha! Thanx a lot in advance. There's another Spanish madman on this forum - as you prbably know -, Samu. Once I asked him to help me. You know, my SweetWife and I have this symbol, the MoonCross that you can see as my avatar. We use its Spanish name because it sounds more "mystic": LunaCruz. I make anniversary T-shirts for us every year and in 2010 I wanted the writing "The Best Is Yet to Come" to be on the shirts. I wanted it to be in Spanish so I asked Samu to help me. You can see the result here.

Yeah!! Heheheh that's nice to have people here ready to help ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I love how it sounds "Lunacruz". You seem to have paste the 2 words into one. I mean Luna (moon) and Cruz (cross) are different ones; but it makes a good combination ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Lunacruz... sounds cool yeah!! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I love its sound in english "Crescent" the way it is named that kind of moon and Cross for Cruz. "Crescent and the Cross" mhmhmhm sounds cool ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Epic!! LOL.

I have no idea mika. I don´t understand Portuguese except for some words that are similar to Spanish, so I don´t know the difference between the two versions ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)
