The cover hinted some reference to Metal Heart, surprisingly there is nothing of it in the title track. Clip is good and the change into mechanichal rythm looks awesome and unique. But thats it. Music sounds boring , songwriting is weak, vocal is poor. Real humanoid heartless stuff ) My mark 3/5. Hope for some more humanity on the album .

Yes there is a hint to Metal Heart... There is being used a scale known as the Hungary minor scale in the guitar riff ( such as there is in the intro of Metal Heart). Thanks to Fred, I noticed that after hearing the song. And lyric-wise there is a hint into Metal Heart plus....the futuristic message.

Accept or the record company seems to be a master of choosing the worse or bad song as the video... Stampede, The Rise Of Chaos or the Undertaker being examples. Saying that The Undertaker grew on me when I heard the whole Too Mean To Die album. But still it was so different from all the other songs on the album....maybe the title track of Humanoid is also different from other songs. I must say one thing: for some reason to me Accept songs do not open up to me so fast as any other bands' songs.

It's definitely a grower but the whole concept of the title track is well worn territory for Accept. Feeling good about it. Also catching some nods to the Metal Heart melody.

I had no expectations after that song, but man how that album blew my mind!

Listening to it I was thinking like it's in the same vein as Stampede and all the other chosen ones that gave me nothing. Hopefully this one is the weakest on the album. So far I'm totally disappointed.

Intro to Metal Heart is “Slavic ( volks) march” by Chaikovsky but its not too close to Humanoid. PS . When I have first heard Abyss, I found it awesome , Mark has really touched my soul with meaningfull singing. Its better to make opinion after listening of the full album on a big hi-fi. So, time will tell.

Mostly fans were dissappointed by “The undertaker” track but after the album was out, they mentiiined it like the best track of the album ) Accept can play music greatly by I doubt for great composition. Still its Accept like that old horse : doesnt not break a furrow, though cant make it deeper

PS . I gave “Humanoid” a spin in a car with bigger speakers and I praise it better now. The track is based on Slavic march and a pair of other classical tunes, looks like inspired by «Symphonic Terror” programme.
Instrumental part since half of the track is just great. What I miss is true metal, hope to find it on other tracks . Though it looks like the band has lost DNA of Accept with departure of Baltes, the one and only Wolf is not enough.

So far Baltes hasn't added anything interesting to U.D.O. so I can't vibe out what Accept lost. I don't know what Peter thinks he's gonna do in Udo vs. staying in Accept, it's a pretty strict style of heavy metal and both bands making their mortgage payments playing to the general audiences of big festivals.

Baltes hasn't written anything for U.D.O. yet. He played on Touchdown, but the album was written before he joined. I hope their next album answers your question
