well, i see that UDO is having a VIP ticket sale for the meet and greet after the shows here in the US. i'd love to sit down and talk to him again, it's been a very long time for me, but i'm not going to pay extra just to talk to someone. so i'm still thinking if i'm even going to go to the show now. today, i feel like i won't but that will probably change a few times before the show gets here.
The good news is that he can't command absurd prices. When I saw him in Vegas, I think it was a $20 ticket. So if the M&G adds $10 or $20, that ain't that bad.

I just do not like the song Metal Never Dies at all. Holy, They Want War, I Give as good as I get are boring songs at the moment for me. And they skipped Finland on the previous tour ( proper gig, not a festival show): they should play Rose In The Desert instead of I Give as good as I get for example.

At least there are no ACCEPT songs and that's a cool thing. But yeas, they are playing the same songs tour by tour for eons now.
It is time to send Man and Machine, Animal House, Independence Day and songs like those on a long long rest.

Awww... Animal House was one of the ones I wanted to hear the first time Udo came to the states after a decade of absence. Killer tune!

I try not to read setlist before the gig, but I do read the comments.
I think I give as good as I get is for some reason the most watched UDO video on Youtube (29 000 000 views), so they kind of need to play it.
Interesting that they have dropped Timebomb from the setlist, they did play it in summer festivals, at least in Finland.

You guys have so many demands! ๐ They need to have some hits on the setlist. They aren't playing any Accept songs (which are undoubtedly the most famous songs from Udo's repertoire) and now you want him to skip songs like They Want War, Animal House and Independence Day? I've seen Udo and Accept live over 10 times now, but I never get tired of Metal Heart, Fast as a Shark or even Balls to the Wall (if they don't draw it out for too long). To be fair, I'm a bit sad I won't get to hear Breaker or any of the aforementioned songs this time (especially with Baltes in the band now), but let's hope it won't be the last time.
Anyway, I'd say it's a decent setlist. There are some deep-ish cuts - Break the Rules, The Wrong Side of Midnight, Pain, even Heart of Gold and Metal Machine (my favourite!) to some extent. I'd say they've done a good job at getting all the different eras in there. 14 different albums in one setlist - how many other bands manage to do that?
I looked up the setlist for their last tour (in 2022) and there are only 6 songs that have stayed the same (out of 20 songs. This means 14 new songs!!!). So I have no idea what you're complaining about.

I would call this: laziness. Faceless World album was some sort of a commercial hit album when it was released. I think many fans would not mind to hear Blitz Of Lightning, Faceless World, Future Land and so on. On Mean Machine there are better songs than Break The Rules.
The Land Of The Midnight Sun would be a perfect song in Finland. They could make some changes to the setlist: for example play two or three different songs between say two shows. That is what Accept did when they played two gigs in Finland. They respected the fans coming to the both shows.

Laziness it is! Udo was brave enough to choose many obscure/not so well known ACCEPT songs for their second Dirkschneider round. I was in Heaven! Why can't he now choose less established songs, instead of the well-known title tracks?
Network Nightmare, Shellshock Fever, Don't Look Back, Future Land, Stranger... The list is endless.

I loved that 2 DIRKSCHNEIDER tour gig! And at the moment the restrictions of the guitar players/abilities of the guitarists is not the reason. They can play compicated solos.
