aside from 4 or 5 festivals, it looks like the "Dirkschneider" tour is going to end in the US on February 4th, 2017. so that will give Udo and the band some time to rest, but most importantly, to write stuff for a new album. so my question is ...
what do you want, or expect, from a new album in comparison to Decadent and Steelhammer? do you want it to be heavier, more melodic, faster songs, more ballads?
as for me, i'm hoping that they will write more "user friendly" songs, or more 80's sounding songs. Decadent didn't have many songs that really had a "hook" or anything to really catch me, or grab me. of course there are and exception or two. Pain comes to mind quickly. Under Your Skin is a good angry song. but i couldn't really tell you the names of most of the songs on that album. so i guess i'm saying that i'd like more catchy, hooky songs. songs with some real meaning, memorable guitar solo's, and maybe a cool drum part here or there.

John: Dirkschneider tour continues also in the summer of 2017. They will play third time in Finland this year's summer. *yawn* Btw, I liked Pain and Under Your Skin songs and another song I like(d) is Words In Flames. That's about it about Decadent. I prefer Steelhammer album which I think was back to the roots album. I am hoping that this Dirkschneider tour and playing Accept songs again and again and again would effect Kasperi's and Andrey's song writing as far as new album is concerned. I am trying to say that I would like an album which would have lot of common to 80's Accept stuff. I would not mind the new UDO album to be in the same vein as Mean Machine album.

I expect it to be the same as steel/decadent I would like.......hmmmmmmm, well I guess a little heavier and more uptempo songs will do fine, no ballads. god I hate ballads. but if it is more of the same I see myself tapping my toe and banging my head all the way along.

Though Decadent is more varied album I prefer Steelhammer style. Decadent is a typical UDO album to me, Steelhammer was something new. With number of new killers like Take My Medicine, which are new for the band.
This new style arranged with monumental and,at the same time, melodic guitar of Andrey gotta be a new touch and a new giveaway for the coming album. Moreover, fast and metal guitar of Kaspery can give " back to the roots" metal spirit.
I really liked the latest Dirschneider album, this band can play very good.

Usually when all the guitars played by one guitarist on an album which Udo sings on, the result is awesome/brilliant/very good. I mean of course Restless and Wild, TimeBomb and SteelHammer. Three albums, three different axemen, same singer, awesome result. Now that there are two excellent players/songwriters in the band, and finally (and hopefully) they finish the Dirkschneidr tour, I hope they will write and play some classic ACCEPT-like stuff. So mika and Tomcat agree again

i'd love to hear them do a bunch of dual solo's and harmonies. maybe even one instrumental, or very little vocal, song where they just go off and rip.

My son has a book called "Search, Find, Learn - Vehicles". There's a question in the book "Where Udo is cycling?" (that book is the Hungarian version of a German book) and there is a picture of a guy riding a bike right next to a corn field. We just thumbed that book this last weekend. So Udo was biking to record this video

Some comments from to this news on Blabbermouth:
Jason Baron · Repair Technician at Trijicon, Inc. This is good news..as much as I like Accept, I didn't bother buying the "Dirkschneider" album because I'd much rather have a new U.D.O. album..I like that I'm getting two kick ass albums from two kick ass bands..I understand that U.D.O. wanted to make some $ from his time in Accept but I'm glad he's back to his own band.
Michael Murphy I hope all that classic Accept he has been touring with shows up in the new one.

I would love to hear some new U.D.O. material again. I've always had a soft spot at U.D.O. compared to his other projects. Actually, I haven't listened so much at Decadent yet. I think it sounds decent so far though...

to me, decadent was pretty decent. Pain is the highlight of the album although Under Your Skin is pretty good too. there are any songs that i would skip if it came on my mp3 player. i'm kinda worried about a new U.D.O. album though. we all know that Andrey will be awesome as he was on steelhammer. but with the uncertainty of the other guitar spot, and the (most likely) mediocre drums, the next album will be interesting to hear how this new lineup is going to be. personally, i don't have my hopes up high for it at all.
