My question to you is this: In what era did Udo sing the best? This is of course very personal, and you guys might have a lot of different answers.
I belive the greatest time was around the release of Balls to the Wall, when he could hit some very high notes, but still have a very excellent low end as well.
In his U.D.O days I say the best period would be around 2007 (Mastercutor) and to this day. He sounds very different from 1983, but you still know it's Udo the second you hear him.
So what do you guys think?

Maybe you're right and his best period was the Balls to the Wall era... But I still prefer his very angry voice on TimeBomb.

My answer is that records till about middle of 2000s are great and now the voice is still great.
As for the recorded voice , I prefer" Staying alive".

I prefer Udo's voice now! In the 90's I didn't like his voice that much.

By the way I adore his voice on Russian Roulette. It was filled with tension and emotion back then, when the songs had a meaning and he didn't sing about robocops riding their robobikes.

About Accept years I really like his voice on BTTW.

i thought his voice from R&W all the way through Mean Machine was the best for him. until now of course. his voice is at the top of his game now that he's stopped smoking.

i thought i'd bring this back up to the top. my view has changed a bit over the last few years since the last post here. i'm going to go back to my original view that his voice was incredible from R&W through Mean Machine. he has had quite a few killer parts since then but he was just unstoppable during the 80's. a complete monster on vocals. nobody could touch him.

Neither my opinion has changed. TimeBomb by .U.D.O. and Russian Roulette by ACCEPT - as far as Udo's voice goes.

Always a phenomenal vocalist in his own right, so I'd say his finest moments are scattered throughout the decades.

To me its from some like 81 till 91. I think that that my No1 is his singing
See the man in white He's old He wouldn't dare to fight A maaaaaaaaaaaan
Rocking like a beast Upon a never ending dream We love each otheeeeeeeeer
It is sang so cool. A cool track for singing in company when you have cold winter night, cold winter drinks, don't try to do it alone, cold winter drinks
