Here's a little bit better and actual review of the Sabaton gig. I wrote this also on Sabaton forum. Sabaton, Tampere, Sauna Open Air Metal Festival, 060907
01. Panzer Battalion 02. In The Name Of God 03. Into The Fire 04. Attero Dominatus 05. Rise Of Evil 06. Wolfpack 07. Light In The Black 08. Primo Victoria 09. Metal Machine/Metal Crüe
Now to the review of the show. To being modest I say that the Sabaton gig was one of the best I have ever seen. I have been to metal/hard rock gigs intensively since 1990, so I know what I am writing about. Joakim asked the audience after Rise Of Evil, would the audience liked to hear Hellrider or Wolfpack. I shouted Wolfpack as did many others. So Sabaton played Wolfpack instead of Hellrider, even though the Hellrider stands in the "official" setlist. That was really clever for Joakim to ask the audience about that. You know, now the setlist is great: there is no single song which I don't like.
That is an achievement that no band has ever been able to do, except Sabaton now! Only complain is about the shortness of the setlist, but it is not the band's fault.
I had been waiting for Sabaton to come to Finland approximately one year and now my dream came true. What more can a fan ask for than to have one of the best bands to come out and play in your home city... I always have high expectations about live shows. If a band can reach my expectations I think that the gig was okay - no surprises, not a great show, but not bad just okay. This time my high expectations were exceeded. Yeah, I was in ecstasy and I am sure I wasn't the only one.
The mixing of the show was great. You didn't necessarily need ear plugs ( I didn't wear them). The sound was clear and not mixed up. You could hear clearly all the intruments and the singing as well. The overall sounds were brilliant. The guys of Sabaton were enjoying the great feedback they got from the audience, albeit the crowd didn't know the lyrics so well.
The atmosphere during the gig was magnificent. I think Sabaton agrees on that. Band was energetic and especially the singer Joakim is a really charismatic front man. He was energetic on stage as well as the whole band. Joakim set the audience on fire with his great stage presence. Well done Sabaton and come to Finland as soon as possible!

Oh yeah! Just read some news from the Sabaton site and they are going to release a live dvd from the concert that is being held in Belgium on 1st of September. So if Sabaton will release a live dvd, I don't see any obstacles why U.D.O. couldn't do the same thing.

To be honest, I've never heard a song of SABATON. But the metal press is full of goods reviews/articles about them. In one article, the singer of Sabaton was described as ''a young, and very angry Udo Dirkschneider!'' !!! And the album with the song ''Metal Machine'' should be ''the best teutonic metal album since the ACCEPT days!'' This line made me look trough the music stores here, but e.g. the Media Market had not one SABATON album. So, is there any site where I can download some songs???
