I was just remembering this story yesterday about my brother and I's introduction to Pantera. I had seen the video for This Love a few weeks prior to when my brother and I sat down to watch Headbanger's Ball one saturday night. This Love started playing and I wasn't really sure if that was the song I had seen or not. My brother was watching it confused and wondering why they were playing such a softie song? Then I said to him, "Don't worry, I'm pretty sure this song gets harder..." Then Phil starts in: "YOU TAKE THIS LOVE....." It was so funny the look on his face. His reaction was like "Holy S_HIT!" And then we both laughed hysterically throughout the song, much like how hard we laughed when we first heard Balls To the Wall (the song). But for Balls we laughed initially because we thought it sucked (now they are my all time favorite band and Balls is my #3 all time song... go figure!). For This Love I think it was because it was so phucking heavy and a totally unique style. Also it really proved to me that you don't need satanic laden lyrics and a singer singing like a gorilla or a caveman to be considered one of the heaviest bands on the earth!

Hmm, I don't know why, but I have never liked anything Pantera has done. I also wonder that some people are saying Accept 'Death Row' has Pantera sound. I don't like Pantera at all, but I love Death Row album by Accept so much, because it has so many guitar gimmicks (Juho can, I think, find the right word for "kitararevittely" which is so typical to Accept but in a small extent in other albums compared to DeathRow, i.e. Death Row is full of guitar 'revittely' ) However, Joe, it was a fun story. From all my heart I can say, it is really interesting that Accept (great band) divides opinions so heavily when considered the best Accept album or what is typical to Accept. ;D I am sorry for my English today; I have drunk "couple of beers" and rum. I don't feel ashamed for that: I am on vacation! ;D One thing is sure, whether I am sober and dry or "unconscious": this forum has really great people and personalities! 8-)It sure does...and I can also say that people I know that like Accept are intelligent, except me.

Revittely = burn out
But I'd translate kitararevittely to guitarmasturbation as in my pont of view what's what guys (gays?) like Yngwie is doin' rather than the great guitars in Accept songs which fits like a glove to the rest of the song wich the guitarmasturbation in Yngwie songs mostly doesn't..

I have an interview from a 1994 magazine were Wolf says he has got strong influences from Pantera and another band I don't remember the name of. The mag was called Tat'n'Roll i think. Combined music and Tatto mag!

I must say that Wolf combines magnificently classical music and metal. I don't know how he did it when he combined Sabre Dance with Flash Rockin' Man in 1996 tours, but it fits it...
