i went with a couple of buddies last night to see chris polands band "ohm". i hadn't heard any of their stuff before so i was really shocked when i heard the music. it's like a jazz/rock/metal fusion type thing but the musicianship of the 3 band members is friggin awesome!! every jaw was scrapping the floor by the end of the set! holy poop. i didn't know people could play like that. i sounds nothing at all like megadeth so don't even think that for a minute. it's just off the wall, kick ass musicianship for 1 hour! no 4/4 time here!
a band called red headed step chylde opened the show. they became my favorite local band since i heard them for the first time back in july when they opened for metal church. RHS sounds a lot like pro-pain and or pantera if you ask me. very aggressive de-tunned music.
kings x finished the show last night with a great set although i have to say, ohm stole the night. awesome. i'm still in shock.
