it appears that lizzy borden has cancelled their show here in phoenix on october 20th. if you ask me, they found out that Vykyng was going to go onstage right before them that night and they could not follow an act like Vykyng with their pure energy, talent and shear lack of respect for bands who take themselves too seriously!!! in other words, they were afraid of getting their asses KICKED by Vykyng!!! bastards

in all seriousness, they did not have good ticket presales and the promoter pulled the show. even though it's 6 weeks away. don't know why he'd freak out so soon. hell, Vykyng draws at least 100 people to the shows just on their own. i know the promoter and talked to him today. they were just asking for so much money and so much add-ons to the contract like free drinks, free food for 24 hours, 4 hotel rooms, transportation to the club and back to the hotel. stuff like that. they had 2 tickets sold so far! i alone had 36 presales! ME!! tells you alot huh?!

Too bad, well Vykyng will play with better bands in the future, Lizzy Borden just blew it for themselves!

they were a semi good 80's band that at that time were considered outrageous because of their costumes and makeup. kind of like a very poor mans Kiss. only without the decent music. they had a couple of minor hits. i like a few of their songs. "me against the world" is the only one that comes to mind, but i thought they would draw a good crowd. guess not! oh well.

i was just talking to the guy i know who was promoting the show. he was telling me of all the bands, sort of big names, that have either backed out or couldn't draw a crowd and he ended up losing money. no wonder the guy is spooked. he's working on something cool for Vykyng though. we'll most likely headline a night at a bigger club because we draw a lot of people just out of pure curiosity!

I saw Lizzy Borden in NY last Friday. Not my cup of tea, although they put up a good show. Btw, there were almost more people watching the opening bands than LB. There were not more than 60-70 people when they hit the stage!

but they were very popular back in the day... I was never into them, actually I had never listened to them before Friday but I expected a greater turnout.
