One word is not enough. In 1984 it was dangerous to be a rocker in USSR. And metalheads were outlaws ! ) But it was just an episode , in general I never had any problem. I even had long hair. My first metal album was Metal Heart .but I found it too soft. As my cassette recorder was actually not so drivy and punchy. It was not about music , it was about my audio gear. A band that really have made me a metal head was Soviet band “Black Cofee”. They pleyed melodical hardnheavy inspired by DC and they were very talented. The band still exist and they rule. But a real blast how made a metalhead was Judas Priest with “Ram it down” track. In 1988 I have never heard about this band. And when I have heard it on the radio , I was rammed down once and forever. I started my hadbangers journey with Metallica - actually, no sigar. Megadeth was cool and I am still with the band . Miniwar, sorry , Manowar was another blast which is still not in the past. But I have to say that my metal heart was mostly with 3 other bands - Accept , Helloween and Warlock. When now I read how German journalists try to explain popularity of UDO in Russia, they say : UDO was the first Western heavy metal band touring Russia widely . But they place “horse after a cart”. Udo started touring Russia as in 1993 , beeing here with Accept on Objecfion tour, they saw an enormous popularity. No other band could have such e responce. And it was in 1993 when Udo said to Russian TV : we are so popular here cause we have touched Russian heart. That was Russian merlheads : heavy metal in American English sang by German bands. Ps. An article from the only Soviet rock-zine for youth, 1986 Q : Why do you tell about old bands? Why dont You tell us about sone new ones? How about Accept ? A: Man, Accept have been existing for 7 years since. But all of their music is based on same all old stuff of 1960s. Whats the reason of telling about this band? They even dont have any fresh idea. No way , man. )))

hahahahaha that last part is extremely funny. no fresh idea even though they were one of the first bands to play a style that sort of invented Thrash metal.

Now it easy to get any info. In 80s in ussr it was impossible . But people were turning inside out in hearing out the yearned lirycs in desperate attempts to sing togetherwith Udo. The title is :” Accept 82 ( romance) “. Though actually the track Breaking Up Again is 81. Actually lirycs on the paper has nothing mutual with English but phonetically it is a very good copy. Today it looks funny but it shows love and effection we have had back in the days. “Elvison you play Me fila freaking o-o - fcuken”..

Haha! That's a total scat I still remember many of the Cyrillic letters so I can read this... OMG... "U-u-u dondo watudu obadyou" (Oh, don't know what to do about you) OMG! But you are right, Stas. It shows something of the enthusiasm. But still... Haha! OMG By the way, things like these were usual in Hungary as well.
