but doc, i don't think it's stefan k. playing on the albums because the style of the drums is nothing like the real playing the he did on the Accept albums. so it's just a drum machine. a computer. plane and simple. it's a total fraud. we don't albums to listen to computers. we buy albums to listen to the creativity of the human spirit and soul. the drum machine is just big load of sh*t and it's a shame that Udo has been talked into doing this by a complete fraud and lazy a$$ phony of a "producer". I tend to agree with you, John. I was just throwing out an alternative possibility for consideration. You know, I've been listening to a lot of Accept and U.D.O. recently (what a shocker, I know!). Perhaps I am trying to hear things that aren't there, but I do hear some similarities to certain "programmed" fills on songs on "Holy" (e.g., "Friends Will Be Friends") and Stefan K's style when he played in Accept. That doesn't mean that the drums aren't computer programmed. In fact, I would expect for Stefan K to program tracker drums that include some of his drumming style (to the extent that drums for a song that's being recorded in a studio are composed as opposed to simple reactions when one gets behind the kit and hears the other instruments playing). Ok, we need one of our European friends to hang out with Francesco and get him drunk so we can find out the truth.

so i wonder if Udo will let his son play on the albums or if the computer will make a comeback?!? don't know. i guess it depends on who's going to produce the new U.D.O. album. hopefully it's Mattes again, but whoever it is, we'll have to see if he keeps the drums as played or if he manipulates them afterward.

Who knows that? There are computerized drums even on Decadent.

yes there are and it's sad. d**n it, i'd really like to pay for a cd knowing that the band actually wrote the parts and played them and that i wasn't being deceived by a d**ned computer!

I bet on hi-tech drums of the new millienum.... computer stuff ) To me this is the band's tradition and the touch.

Well, here's the question... is it MIDI or triggered? It's easy to make triggered drums sound like MIDI drums by improper use of quantization and once you do that, you might as well have programmed them.

after seeing sven play a couple of nights ago,... hmmm. he's an average drummer - nothing wrong with that. he did really good on the first bunch of Accept songs but then he seemed to start to lose steam and his playing really suffered. a couple of songs he was totally lost on which is weird. you'd think he'd have those old Accept songs down. i'm not saying he sucked by any means. he was good. he just is not impressive. he played along with the songs instead of driving them. i'd say that he was actually "in the pocket" for about 1/3 - 1/2 of the songs. but that's just me. i'm very critical of drummers.
one thing that i'm seriously so happy for ... he didn't do a drum solo! thank you sven! i cannot stand drum solo's, i don't care who's doing them!!! so thank you sven again for not doing one!!!!

there's just nothing more boring than having to sit (or stand) through some monkey beating the crap out of the drums and cymbals for 5 or more minutes when the bands could've played another song from their catalog that someone likes. it doesn't matter what band, or what drummer, i'd rather hear music. there are the very few exceptions of course. but very very few.

Robb Reiner is a guy whose drum solos are not boring. Terrana loses 100 - 0 to him.

I can't speak to the details since my ear isn't tuned to the rhythm elements enough to be able to tell however I will say that I tend to agree with what was said earlier. While the kick drum was fine, I don't think he was hitting the rest of the drums hard enough and his tone suffered as a result. (If you REALLY want to send a young drummer for a loop, remind them that they're not in their parents' garage and yell at them that they need to play LOUDER.)

Ofcourse I meant Robb(!). I put that writing error to my new medicine's fault. I have a new medicine to stop the atrial fibrillation. It may have some nasty side effects. Hallucination, dizziness, eye problems etc...Tambocor is the name of that medicine.
