okay, another tough decision...
Animal House - "In The Darkness"
a very beautiful ballad and my favorite song off this album. I tend to think that the "Animal House" record is overrated in general, because songs like "They Want War", "Go Back To Hell" or the title track might be classic, but Udo can do far better.
Mean Machine - "Break The Rules"
Udo's worst record in my opinion, heavily overrated. The only song that reaches U.D.O. standards is the mighty anthem "Break The Rules"
Faceless World - "Future Land"
a great album, although slightly commercial, but nevertheless the songwriting level's very high. "Future Land" wins against other monster songs like "Heart Of Gold" or "Born To Run" due to its fantastic main riff, the very beautiful chorus and the rhythmic progression of the song (inversion of the metrum etc.)
Timebomb - "Kick In The Face"
very thrashy, aggressive and raw album with no real-standout-tracks for me because in my opinion the title song and "Metal Eater" are made better than they actually are. "Kick In The Face" brings it home because of the acoustic intro, the great chorus and the monumental riff work.
Solid - "Hate Stinger"
fantastic riff, creepy vocal lines, great time signature changes throughout the song...even if "Solid" only consists of great songs (without exception), this one wins.
No Limits - "Azrael"
U.D.O.'s best record up to now, but also the one which is most underestimated and maligned by fans. All songs rule to no end, but if you have listened to the first twelve songs and think nothing can make this album even better than it already is, you get this one: one of the greatest ballads ever written, with incredibly emotional lyrics, a radiant guitar solo and Udo Dirkschneider whose range from beautiful singing to screaming attacks your feelings incessantly.
Holy - "Cut Me out"
a strange and completely uncommon song for a classic German heavy metal band. Odd time signatures, a piano, grooving bass and a motherfrigging jazz guitar solo (which sounds half improvised) make this one stand out from the great but generic rest.
Man And Machine - "Unknown Traveller" half ballad, half metal anthem, acoustic guitar solo, fantastic bridge (I seldom heard something as emotional and monumental), grooving bass and perfect flowover almost seven minutes.
Thunderball - "Trainride In Russia"
polka with Russian folk influences very cool lyrical contents. Just sit back and enjoy
Mission No.X - "Eye Of The Eagle"
another great ballad: emotional, cool lyrics, great guitar solo and everything else is perfect.
Mastercutor - not able to decide
candidates: "One Lone Voice" ---> very interesting and well written lyrics and a great (!!!) chorus "Master Of Disaster" ---> modern sounding, thrashy edge, hammering double bass drumming, murderous riffs and the chorus is perfect for shouting along "Tears Of A Clown" ---> despite what everybody says, this song owns in its own way. Only accompanied by piano and cello, Udo's voice is in surprisingly good condition until it breaks out in the last chorus. Great show!!

Very interesting to read all that Raven! Welcome onboard, by the way!
I agree with you on one thing in particular: No Limits is generally underestimated and belongs to the top 3 U.D.O. albums without question!

It is always good to have new members on UDO fan forum. We UDO fans may have different opinions, no we surely do differ quite much as far as the best songs are concerned ;D, but we accept other kind of opinions without going to a personal level.
