Hello everyone.
In a couple of other threads here, I've mentioned that I play bass in a band (actually, I also sing backing vocals). The name of the band is Illusion of Sanity. We are a hard rock trio that have been together for a year and a half (though the lead singer/guitarist and I have been jamming and writing songs for 4 years now). Our influences are myriad, but I'll let you all guess what they are after listening to us.
Two months ago, I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams, to record an album, and yesterday, I fulfilled a second, which is to have that album released to the world. Our self-titled debut was made available for streaming on YouTube, Pandora and Amazon Music, and should be released on Spotify at any moment. It will also be available on a plethora of other streaming services. We are having CDs made, and those will be available at the end of this month.
With that in mind, please give your warmest welcome to Illusion of Sanity:
I'm really interested in seeing if any of you can guess the song that inspired my bassline here which forms the backbone of "Eastside Heartbreak."
And yes, we will be making a proper music video and if interested, I will post some live videos over time.
Enjoy (hopefully; constructive criticism is welcome too).

Congrats Doc! I didn't know you were this close to have the album released. I'm glad you have finally reached your goals The thing I like the most in this music is the bass sound. That's how I imagine the sound of the bass on a Metal album. The whole music is driven by your bassplaying. All in all this music is not my cup of tea because I'd bear some guitar duels (I know it's a trio so it would be hard to make duels with only one axe), more choruses and much more passion in the singer's voice. Anyway, thanx for sharing your stuff and I'm really glad for you!

Actually, our sound is not necessarily representative of what I like to listen to the most but is representative of the influences of the three of us (we're a trio, which makes dueling guitar solos a bit of a challenge to pull off live). While I play guitar as well, I consider myself a bass player first and foremost, and actually write 95% of my riffs and come up with songs on the bass and bring those bass lines and riffs to my two bandmates, which is reflected in your comments, Tomcat. I did think that you would figure out the musical influence for my bassline in "Eastside Heartbreak." I think it's pretty obvious but of course, I'm biased.

Oh, the bassline question! I was in a hurry and forgot to answer. I think it's Balls to the Wall. Hope I won
