Not actually binge watching, but I really like the tv series called Holby City (fictional hospital series). It is almost the only tv series program I am watching.

^Never heard of this either. I think it is at least popular in Finland and in England. Btw, I really liked a comedy series called Frasier.

The Beverly Hillbillies (Ran for 9 seasons in the 1960s)
This series has always interested me. In addition to being a laugh riot, it later occurred to me that along with having a certain amount of "Rip Van Winkle" in it, it was also a metaphor for what historians have come to call The Great Urban Migration (which I personally consider to be really the close of the Industrial Revolution being the urbanization of society and the transition from largely agricultural based societies to industrial and commercial societies, where with the advancements in technology and manufacturing, many of the younger crowd were moving off of the farm and into the city seeking new opportunities. (Plus with the ever increasing of efficiency in farm production and the increasing industrialization of farming, which began in earnest in the 1920s fewer farmers were needed anyway.) I think in a lot of ways that's why it was so popular, because so many people could relate to it, either having the experience or knowing people who had grown up without all the modern conveniences watching the world changing around them and marveling at what all was possible that hadn't been just 20 or 30 years prior. I mean, even something as basic as a telephone wasn't yet in every house in 1930, you could still find horses being ridden for work in the more rural areas, passenger air travel hadn't yet developed (that wouldn't come until AFTER WWII), and most people had to work long days INCLUDING the homemakers who had a full time job just keeping the place up. (No microwave ovens or prepared store bought foods. No televisions--that was a 1940s invention. No automatic washers and dryers. Many homes heated by coal or wood stoves, necessitating the annual "spring cleaning" to do all the drapes, wipe down the walls and even the ceilings, and clean the carpets to get rid of the winter's layer of grime from the fires, etc, etc.) So in a sense, and this especially goes for the first three or four episodes, I look on this as a reflection of that period.I was born in 1973 and grew up at the tail end of that transition so can relate to the things portrayed here more than the current generation can.
Anyway, its just good television. They don't make shows like that anymore, that are just there to entertain without being vulgar, offensive, or just plain stupid.

i totally agree wayne. that's a great wholesome show. i really like it too.
i think i finished up season 6 of dexter last night. it's getting intense now, but i can kinda see where the writing is beginning to get a bit lazy and the audience is expected to accept a lot of really unrealistic things.

Decided to go through all the old "Doctor Who" episodes. I hate buying N number of subscription services but figured I could pay the $6/mo and then cancel when I'm done with everything. Just finished Tom Baker. If you haven't seen them, go look for interviews on YouTube with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. They are both really funny people!
