So, the gig is in the past. Here is my writing on the wall. Accept and The Orchestra of Death, Live
Firstly , I had serious doubts on the presence of people as Crocus City Hall is 5.000 men capacity. Which is unprcedent for Accept saying nothing about 1993, their first visit.
But it was a sold-out . I came in about a 1,5 hour before a show and had enough time for messing around the merch boutiqes and etc. There was some merch , a pair of Tees, silicon bracelettte, poster made of hard paper .
There was plenty of CDs, MP3s, vynils . But prices were thrice higher than on Nuclear Blast site.
Comparing to my latest UDO gig , I can sing the same old tune to Accept : “ I can get no satisfaction”. Merch is to be better and UDO have had much better list.
Luckily , there was no warm-up act. And the showtime has come. Crocus City Hall has perfect acoustics design and the sound was awesome. Lights and all the gig was awesome as well. But here are some cons . Strangly but show started with classic tunes , far not Accept. And actually the first part of the show was just Sympho. There was no Accept logo on stage.
It took us about half an hour to hear Accept finally. Mark was fantastic. Halilujah. He finally was doing right, top notch. I can claim some sounds, but still he was much better than I have expacted. Excelllent work.
Bass - an epic fail. The sound of bass guitar was tuned in a strabge manner, something like new metal style. And it would have been interesting if that man had been good on bass. But I think we all have been had ))
Its impossible to replace Baltes and what I saw yesterday was Accept of Predator time, not more. It was not Accept. It was a twisted Accept. No duels of solo and bass, no Accept feeling.
After Mark have done about 5 tracks, Wolf started his Orchestra of Death again. You know, some fans started whistling and even crying out : stop it, we want Accept !
Still there was 50/50 Sympho and Accept. I have to say that it was not good.
What I think on the matter is Wolf is trying to format his show into his solo project. Where classics is ahead and metal is more like good old past , like a shapito circus. “LEts give it up for Dogs on Leads, these comic metalheads are from where Wolf has started 40 years ago. And now he is playing a serious classic music. The one and only star here”. I thing he moves in a wrong direction and I understand Baltes leaving the band
