I'm not a WASP freak, don't even know their tunes... The one I like from them is not on this list. The title is something like Heaven's Hung in Black...

My three favorite W.A.S.P. albums are the self-titled debut, "The Headless Children," and "The Crimson Idol." Of this list, I would have to go with "I Wanna Be Somebody." However, from the first album, my favorites are "Hellion," "On Your Knees," "Sleeping In The Fire," and "Tormentor." I can't really pick one song off of "The Crimson Idol" because like all great concept albums, that one is best taken in its entirety, although if someone put a gun to my head and told me I have to pick one, I would say "Arena Of Pleasure" because that is probably 1 of 2 songs on the album that could stand alone along with "Hold On To My Heart," but I prefer the rocker to the ballad. On "The Headless Children," my favorites are "The Heretic (Lost Child)," "The Headless Children," "Neutron Bomber," and "Maneater."

i'm not so much these days either. although i always check them out when there is something new. the problem is that, to me, all the songs have started sounding the same since blackie switched to guitar. i barely liked the headless chicken album and all of them after that were just filler. i don't think i bought any of them.

That is pretty funny, Tomcat.
Seriously though, I like "Headless" and I love "The Crimson Idol", even given that there is a lot of musical "homage" to The Who going on in that album (I am somewhat facetiously saying "homage" as opposed to "ripping off The Who"). I do agree with you, John, in that most everything after "The Crimson Idol" is recycling the same riffs with increasingly worse and worse lyrics (and I say this having bought a few of those albums as well), with a few notable exceptions, specifically the 9/11 tribute song "Hallowed Ground" from "Dying For The World" (that song gives me the chills every time I listen to it).

yeah, the listenable songs have been few and far between since the headless chicken. the memorable ones have been even fewer and farther between.

I do like WASP. The first album is a classic! One of my personal all time best. I remember when I bought it on cassette in 1984. 🤟

I am mostly fan of their two first albums. W.A.S.P. can still write good songs even nowadays. A long history which gets my respect.

i have tried to keep being a WASP fan over the years but it's nearly impossible for me. blackie doesn't write anything interesting at all, there are not many, if any, memorable guitar riffs, and he falls into the "poor me" category for me, which means he tries to make his life seem more difficult than it really was, trying to get sympathy. i just ain't falling for it.
