I have heard the album a few times now and I think that the only songs worthwhile are Pain and Under Your Skin. The album sounds like everyone is trying too hard. It is not really free flowing. It sounds very stiff. That's my opinion. Don't flame me for it.

I have also some problems with the record. It feels to me like something is missing. However I will need to listen to it more.

Forced? Intresting! To me this is one of the most natural sounding U.D.O. albums, also one of the bests!

What's a free flowing album then? Rev-Raptor? Actually this album is different not only because of the changed ways of producing, but the songs themselves are better. New songwriters brought a lot of new fresh ideas, so definitely the album doesn't sound forced for me.

Forced? Intresting! To me this is one of the most natural sounding U.D.O. albums, also one of the bests! I think the sound isn't the issue here. I can only say about my feelings about the album. To me something is missing, for example to me there isn't as strong song as Stay True on Steelhammer. However what I really like about the new album are the guitar solos. Plus I need to listen to that album more, it isn't the easiest UDO album to me to open up. So as far as my opinion is concerned it isn't final, yet. Years back I have had the same kind of problems with UDO and Accept albums before. For example Faceless World and Balls To The Wall took a while to open up to me.

I went from 'Decadent' and put 'Thunderball' and 'Mission No. X" back on my iphone. It reminds me of those albums.

Different strokes for different folks, that's true. But I think there should not be too much negative opinions about the album at least because it is definitely better than some previous ones, isn't it? i mean, of course everyone has the own opinion about how UDO albums have to sound, but remembering how much people disliked 2007-2011 albums, this time, I think, the majority of Udo fans appreciate Decadent.

yes, it's a major step forward from the dreaded -tor era, that's for sure but i think the fans will always long for the Dieth era again more than anything even though andrey and kasperi are beyond incredible on guitars!!
