yesterday i found out that one of the few people that i can be friends with here at the court has a very aggressive form of bladder cancer. they are going to remove his bladder and fit him with a pee bag. but even with all of that, they give him a 50/50 chance of survival and at most up to 5 years. fukk!!! rick is a good friend of mine here and we go to lunch together almost every day. i've known him since 1987 when i first moved to phoenix and he's a very close family friend especially with my cousins who also live here. he was in the air force with one of my cousins back in the late 70's. i guess he's going to get his retirement and disability started and i think it's safe to say that he's done working. i fukking hate that disease cancer.

I hate cancer too. It kills so many people, incuding my parents. Bladder cancer can be aggressive with poor prognosis. I hope that your friend will have lots of extra time. Cancer is beast and can come back years after you're declared cured.

well, rick was back to work for a couple of weeks. they had removed his bladder and he was using a bag. they hadn't started chemo yet because they were waiting for the risk of infection to go down. well, he went back for a checkup monday and they put him back into the hospital right away. they found 3 more tumors. so they did emergency surgery on him yesterday i think. i'll know more as the days go on here. but it doesn't look good now. i have a really bad feeling about this.
