I didn't want to put the best of album list to the Heart Of Gold section, because it doesn't have much to do with Accept/UDO related websites.
Alrighty, here is my top 10 albums of 2012. I am interested in what are you favourite albums of 2012?
01. Pertness - Frozen Time 96 points

It isn't such a long time that I found this band. I didn't even first know they were to release an album in 2012. So that was a pleasant surprise to me. Their music could be said to be power/folk metal with thrash metal influence. To my taste they combine the best elements of these genres. This is quite close to be a perfect metal album. The singer uses harsh vocals quite often and that disturbs me a little. Then again in some places his vocals works really well.
Naturally there wasn't the best song of the album on youtube. Let's put the most aggressive song from them. The song reminds me of Squealer - Made For Eternity album stuff.
02. Burning Point - The Ignitor 94 points

The second place goes to Finland. I don't know what Pete Ahonen the leader of Burning Point, Stargazery and Ghost Machinery has eaten, when he is able to create world class music in three bands. This album contains no fillers for my taste. It is a quite coherent album. Then again there is no bull's eye, like Pertness has in the song: I Sold My Remorse. That's the reason why BP didn't beat Pertness.
03. Sabaton - Carolus Rex 92 points

At first this album didn't effect me. I only liked about 3 songs. I don't know was it because of the marvellous Sabaton gig that I got into this album. Nevertheless this band is excellent in combining beatiful melodies with powerful music. You can recognize the band immediately when you hear first seconds of their song. That is quite an achievement to be "unique" sounding in these days. This band has found their style. They were also able to renew and still keeping their style.
04. Accept - Stalingrad 83 points
![](http://c.suite101.com/files/styles/article_full/public/000/237/000237500.jpg)
The expectations were high when waiting for this album. Unfortunately it was a let-down after the marvellous metal bomb Blood Of The Nations. Maybe the expectations were too high...Wait a minute: a let-down album and it is on the 4th place. I think that tells something about the Accept standard. They fail in the album making and still are in top 5.
Top tracks for me are Hung, Drawn and Quartered; Flash To Bang Time; Shadow Soldiers; Twist Of Fate; Never Forget and The Galley. Just in comparison: on BOTN to me every song is a top track on the normal digipack version.
05. Herman Frank - Right In The Guts 82 points

Go Herman go! What can I say? This is full of explosive metal songs. I would love to see Herman active in composing songs for Accept too. He would have much to offer to the band, especially in the riffs. I have one complaint about this record. I do not like the solos on this album. To put Accept kind of solos to this album and this would be quite close to BOTN.
06. Charlie Shred - Charlie Shred 81 points

I think the main thing about this band is to be a side project of ReinXeed. I don't know if this is odd sense of humour of the Swedish people or what, but this is so much better than ReinXeed. This is some kind of straight forward power metal with good melodies and with a good singer. Maybe this record is this good, because there has been no pressure when doing this what so ever.
07. Razörwyre - Another Dimension 79 points

I don't know any other bands from New Zealand than this one. I don't have a clue of their music scene, but yes I welcome this band to the metal family with pleasure. Speed metal meets NWOBHM. No fine gimmicks and magic: just metal.![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)
08. Bloodbound - In The Name Of Metal 75 points
![](http://www.on-parole.com/shop/39307-44529-large/bloodbound-in-the-name-of-metal-digi-cd-.jpg)
This album came quite fast after the masterpiece Unholy Cross. Could these Swedish metalheads be able to make another masterpiece in short time? No. However this is still a good metal/power metal album. The songs are good and there are two highlights on this album. Still this album is on the class of its own if thinking of other albums released in 2012.
09. Sister Sin - Now And Forever 73 points
![](http://www.ginza.se/Archive/Images/item_img_verylarge/171046.jpg)
There are couple of fillers on this one. However this one is also a good album despite the fillers. It took some time for me to grow on this.
10. Xandria - Neverworld's End 71 points
![](http://www.rockinspain.es/images/discos/Xandria_NeverworldsEnd-350x350.jpg)
This is how I would like Nightwish to sound. In the right kind of mood this album feels excellent. At some times I don't enjoy so much listening to this. Because of these contradictory feelings this record came as number ten. The quality of the songs is high.
Other albums that I liked were Primal Fear - Unbreakable, Grand Magus - The Hunt, Witchcraft - Legend, Tygers Of Pan Tang - Ambush, Reverence - When Darkness Calls. These albums had their moments, but they missed something in order to be able to be in top 10 albums.
