my top albums of 2012 are... in no particular order....
Sister Sin - Now And Forever Sabaton - Carolus Rex Accept - Stalingrad U.D.O. - Live In Sophia Grave Digger - Clash of the Gods (even though i don't own it.. bart does and i liked everything i heard on it.) The Godz - Last Of The Outlaws (not really "metal", more just hard rock but still a great album.) Testament - Dark Roots of Earth (a friend of mine has this album and OMG, Testament is just incredible!)
i couldn't get up to 10, so this is my top 7.

I simply don't have a Top 10 for 2012... I can only remember 2 songs as the songs of 2012. And I'm gonna open a new thread for the song(s) of 2012. Alright...check these bands and their latest albums out: Pertness, Burning Point, Gaia Epicus, Sister Sin, Freedom Call, Primal Fear, Orden Ogan, Grand Magus (if you like a combination of trad/doom metal), Razorwyre, ReinXeed, Rage, Xandria (if you liked Wishmaster by Nightwish), Reverence, Vision Divine, Tygers Of Pan Tang (if you like NWOBHM), Icarus Witch (hard rock), Fatal Smile, Kobra And The Lotus, Paragon, Obsession, 3 Inches Of Blood, The Mystery, Huntress, Witchraft, Sunstorm (if you like AOR/softer hard rock), Holy Knights, Pastore, Testament, Crow's Claw...

I thought you liked the latest effort of Alto Voltaggio...

You know exactly what I like Powerful melodic metal with long instrumental parts There are other bands like that in addition to Lechery. Then again everything doesn't appeal to everyone, even though the basics would be in order. Singer could be wrong kind of, certain melodies don't necessarily appeal etc.

Sister Sin album hasn't really opened up to me, yet. I do hope it will happen. Then again SS has always been to me a band which has some killer songs, but the albums as a whole haven't worked for me. When talking about live action that is when the band really is alive. About the new SS album: it does have some cool songs. It remains to be seen whether it will make to my personal top 10 list.

I can´t make a list because I haven´t listened or ordered albums released in 2012, except for Bullet "Full Pull" and Accept "Stalingrad". For me BULLET one is great, as all the other albumes before, this one even more Hard Rock n Roll than Heavy, I really love this band and they are coming to Spain on March About "Stalingrad".... finally is not very of my taste, except for two or three songs. Sounds to me like a "BOTN clon" but not so exciting os surprising.

Did Bullet have a line-up change some weeks ago? Yes they did. One of the guitarists left. From: www.bullet.nuFellow headbangers and hellraisers! Erik Almström will no longer be a part of Bullet as he has been since the start of this band back in 2001. This decision is well thought through and there is absolutely no hard feelings between Erik and the rest of us in the band. This is Eriks choice and his reasons are his own. We wish to thank him for the ups and downs, hardships and fun times we have experienced together. @samu: check out Razorwyre from New Zealand.

that's good when a guy can leave a band like that. with no hard feelings. that makes life a lot easier.

I can reveal some things about my top 10 list: Accept is at 4th place. One certain Swedish band passed Accept by. I now know which cd:s are at places 1 - 6. Still need to think which place Razorwyre, Orden Ogan, Sister Sin, Grand Magus, Bloodbound, Rage, Xandria, Fatal Smile, Reverence, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Gaia Epicus and Vision Divine will take.

John: could you put this to the sound section? So it will be easier to find for example in the future when this thread is in the right place.

@samu: check out Razorwyre from New Zealand. Thanks mika, but they sound very Thrash Metal to me... the double pedal, the high screams...that kind of stuff used to excite me in the past, but not now.
