There are so many things f.cked up in this band now. They need someone to wake them up.
They should be locked into room all together and force them listen to Animal House, Mean Machine and Faceless World. After that they can listen to RR. Then asking them which one is better?
If the answer is RR, they are doomed.
But, some basic stuff they have to do:
- put some effort and guts in the whole thing - learn to write good metal songs again - let a real producer to do his job - get rid of boring themes, clowns, lyrics and covers - make some promotion - look at Accept now. They take you up into ass now, deep and hard

- learn to write good metal songs again There comes the producer again in question. Michael Wagener would be in that sense perfect. He is able to guide the band into a better direction. For example in saying that instead of that riff you could use this etc... First of all he would deny all the fake gimmicks: unnatural sound and fake drums. Michael Wagener has a long history in producing and doing that job well. There are many platinum records under his belt.

UDO needs a new producer. I don't think that more than 2 people on this earth think it sounds good. The next album needs: - Real drums - Good guitar tones - Louder and more complicated bass lines - Less background singing - Better songwriting PLEASE UDO, Make our wish true! Fatcat summed up my desires for the next U.D.O. release exactly and in a nice, succinct fashion. Let me suggest a few names of producers who could get the job done and could get the best out of Udo's voice as well as not put up with the lackluster, "been there, done that" songwriting: 1. Andy Sneap (I know, never going to happen since he has been working with the archrivals - it's unfortunate that I even have to make this point) 2. Kevin Shirley (works with Iron Maiden, Black Country Communion; has worked with Dream Theater, Aerosmith) 3. Roy Z (has produced Judas Priest, Halford, Bruce Dickinson's solo albums, Wolf, Sepultura, Helloween) 4. Jens Bogren (although primarily a mixer, has produced as well) 5. Martin Birch (Although I think he's retired)

I think Michael Wagener did a great job with Breaker and Restless And Wild, and he is the most old fashioned producer.
Other works by him: Wolf Hoffmann - Classical Mötley Crüe - Too Fast For Love
Balls To The Wall (mixing) Dokken - Under Lock And Key
Russian Roulette (recorded and mixed) Bonfire - Fireworks
Skid Row - Skid Row
Bonfire - Point Blank
SEBASTIAN BACH - BRING 'EM BACH ALIVE!
And to compare with Stefan Kaufmann as a producer:

it's like comparing a diamond to a chunk of coal. and it seems s.t.e.f.a.n. agrees too because i think his philosophy is "compress and squash the sh*t out of it and it'll turn into a diamond"

Michael Wagener would be a good choice as well, although like Martin Birch (legendary producer of Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Black Sabbath), I thought he was retired.
A couple more names that I forgot that would work:
1. Charlie Bauerfiend (Helloween, Saxon, Blind Guardian)
2. Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Anvil)
3. Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica's classic albums, Morbid Angel)

Flemming Rasmussen has also done a good job with Pretty Maids.

Oh my God!! That's a good list of producers. My fave one is Wegener!! I hope the B.A.N.D. can solve this as soon as possible. Let's wait...
