I know compared to your problems it is a rather small thing to bad girl about but I need to get that of my chest:
WHY THE frigg IS IT THAT IN GERMANY EVEN 18+ VERSIONS OF MOVIES ARE CUT? AND WHY IS THERE A friggING INDEX FOR MOVIES THAT YOU CAN'T BUY ANYWHERE WITHOUT CUTS? ISN'T THE R RATING ENOUGH?
Let me elaborate on that. I think nearly every country on this planet has some sort of Rating system to rate the movies based on their suitability for younger audiences. The movies are rated (in germany we have "Ohne Altersbeschrenkung" (everyone), 6, 12, 16 and 18) and most of the time they only get sold to people who are the age or above the age of the provided ratings. And I'm all for that! I think it makes sense that let's say a 6 year old schouldn't watch Hostile or the Saw series. But for some german politician friggheads that wasn't enough. So they created the Index. Movies, books and CDs are reviewd by inspecting authorities and if they think it isn't suitable for anyone under the age of 18 those things get banned. They go on the Index. In the case of movies that means most of the stuff still can be sold, but the Salesman isn't alowed to promote those movies and he can only sell them if he makes sure that people under the age of 18 can't see them. So 99.9% of the stores don't sell them at all. And that pissed me of. The 18+ rating is perfectly fine. SO WHY THE frigg DO WE NEED THE INDEX? WHY THE frigg DOES THE GOVERMENT PATRONIZE US, THE PEOPLE THAT ARE OVER THE AGE OF 18? Shouldn't we be able to detrmine what we want to watch or not? And you know the worst thing? Even if the movies make it and get a 18+ rating, they're still cut most of the time! Why? I am against cutting movies anyway. They're a form of art and the director has put a lot of thought into them! So why are they allowed to cut them? And the worst thing is that the packages don't even say that it is cut!
Do you know why I'm so pissed of? This noon I went to my local Media Markt Store to buy the Scareface re-make from 83 mit Al Pacino. I bought the DVD that was Rated-16 and when I was home I realized that I bought a Cut version that was like 20 minutes shorter than the original movie. Nowhere on the package I could find the runtime and nowhere was indicated that this movie was cut. So I did some research and found out that this said movie was on the Index. THE NORMAL CUT OF SCAREFACE IS ON THE GERMAN INDEX! WHAT THE frigg?
