So, right now, how would you rate Dominator in whole U.D.O-catalogue?
I vote for 1-3. Earlier my Top-3 was FW,AH and M&M. Now Dominator has taken M&M's place. It remains to be seen, if Dominator will rise even higher in my list.

i think 10, 11, and 12 will always be reserved for M&M, Mission No. X, and Thunderball. so i voted 7 - 9 since my belief is that it's far from the best but WAY better than the worst!
it's also my belief now that this is just the beginning a new d**ned good era for u.d.o. and that the next album will be far better than the last decade. especially if they get an outside producer. and that's not a dig on stefan, it's just like i've always said that you need that 3rd party outside person to produce. someone who is not attached to the music.

Yeah, and you can always see the band's situation from the better direction than being inside the band. Mark Dodson did good things to Accept and U.D.O., Metal Church. Dieter Dierks was a big mistake sound-wise concerning Accept.
This kind of thing works well in every day life as well. Take distance and you can see the things in a new perspective. Blah, blah.
Back to the thread: I am not able to put this new album toward the catalogue yet. At the moment its's somewhere in between. Different kind of sound world and better guitar solos, then it would be really high.

Somewhere in the lower third... It's far from their best (TimeBomb) but isn't their worst (Solid)...

Listened to Solid the other day and I still could not love it... The guitarsound is so strange to me and I don't like the songs... Desperate Balls is the best tune on that album but all in all I don't like Solid Edit: And I wouldn't choose Mission No. X as the worst .U.D.O. album. OK they made it in a hurry and it can be heard but that album has the title track, Mean Streets, Shell Shock Fever and 24/7 which tunes I like a lot! By the way Stefan worked on Dominator for almost one year and it still sounds worse than Mission. Mission at least has natural guitarsound...

On Mission No X I find the soundworld very polished, at least on Dominator it isn't like that, but there are some odd solutions there. Tomcat, isn't it great that the opinions differ so much between the fans and still we are brothers in metal. I like Solid quite much, but it isn't the case with No Limits. Although I don't regard No Limits a bad album anymore.

Guitars in Dominator are sure quite industrial. But I can live with that..they're not so awful after all. I find sounds quite decent for these kind of tunes. For me, this is powerful stuff. Way more powerful than Timebomb for example.
What comes about Mission X, it is nice album to me which have its great moments like 24/7, ballads and PIP. But i like MFC, SSF and title track too it's very balanced album to me. And Mastercutor had 4 killers (Vendetta, One lone voice, TWSOM and title track) but for me, the rest doesn't work.

I like No Limits much better than Solid. Tho' No Limits is nearly "unlistenable" because of its sound it still has killer tunes... You're right Mika! I also really like the thing that our opinions are so different and we're still all .U.D.O. fans. And there's always someone who protects the album which the others don't like that much And we still can be Friends

We should rather start a new thread on the worst U.D.O. records,Unfortunatelly we find loads of them from the second era Jeno
