since i worded the last poll so well, i'll steal parts from it...
So, you've paid your hard earned money to go see a U.D.O. show. You've bought your ticket, t-shirt and other merchandise, you've paid for parking and lots of pre-show "consumables" . Now it's time for the band to play. During a typical 90+ minute high energy set you notice that the band is playing guitar solo's and drum solo's. Do you like to listen to these? Do you have the feeling of "If they are so talented, show it in the songs and don't waste our time with solo's." Or do you think that these solo's are a necessary part of any metal show?

I have no problems with solos as long as they're not stretching it out like Terrana did in Rage and still does in other bands.

Like on Whitesnake gig, I loved the drum solo, but the guitar "battle" was booooring.

Don't care. If they think that it's time for a solo play, so i think to myself it's time for a beer! ;D

I'd rather have one or two songs than unneccasary solos... Even if they are played by Wolf :-)

to me, i think that since every song has a guitar solo, then that gives the guitarist more than enough opportunity to show what he can do. and drum solo's just bore me to death.

I would want to have a drum, bass guitar and guitar battle at the almost same time. Blah, blah, bass guitar solo would be cool like Peter Baltes did in the 90's. The guitar solo in Live From Russia and in the song Living On A Frontline was cool, I wish to have more like that if people insist on playing guitar solos in every show.

I can count the number of drum solo's and guitar solo's that I've enjoyed in my life on one hand and still have enough fingers left over to smoke a cigarette. I think any solo is a waste of time. If they want to show off the things they can do, then put them into a good song and don't waste my time and money on showing off. Think about it. If they would do away with solo's that would leave enough time for at least 4 more songs in a set. I'd rather listen to 4 more songs than see some monkey bang on a drum. ------> sorry to any drummers that might be on this board but the same to guitar solo's.
