ACCEPT - SuperValue Re-Release Details Revealed [Hot Flashes - 05.03.21 11:55:33]
SPV/Steamhammer are re-releasing four classic ACCEPT titles in their SuperValue campaign.
The titles will be available from April 25th, and will include new booklets with new liner notes, never seen before photos and memorabilia.
Every album has personal liner notes by Accept leader Udo Dirkschneider, who was also involved in the creation of the new booklets.
Titles, tracklistings and comments on the titles from Udo Dirkschneider are as follows:
Accept - Accept: ‘Lady Lou’, ‘Tired Of Me’, ‘Seawinds’, ‘Take Him In My Heart’, ‘Sounds Of War’, ‘Free Me Now’, ‘Glad To Be Alone’, ‘That`s Rock N`Roll’, ‘Helldriver’ and ‘Street Fighter’.
Says Udo, “What every musician dreams turned into a reality for us, now that we had a record deal. When listening closely to this album, you can already hear the Accept sound. Without a doubt this album brought notice to the German rock scene. Naturally it was very exciting for us the first time we entered a recording studio , but also disappointing at the same time. Of course, we expected that song we recorded would be the same as the song we had written. I remember that is was a fight for us to push our ideas into the foreground. I believe that they wanted to make a pop band out of us, but at the end, we got our way."
Accept - I’m A Rebel: ‘I´m A Rebel’, ‘Save Us’, ‘No Time To Lose’, ‘Thunder And Lightning’, ‘China Lady’, ‘I Wanna Be No Hero’, ‘The King’ and ‘Do It’.
Says Udo, “When I think back on the development of I'm A Rebel, only one thought comes to mind; Too many people involved trying to manipulate the band, just like on the first album. The title song ‘I'm A Rebel’ was originally planned for AC/DC, but they were not interested. We were played an 8 track demo made by Bon Scott!!! We definitely wanted to record the song, and couldn't understand why AC/DC did not want to do it. In hindsight it was possibly a mistake not to use the producer who wanted to record this album since he was no less than the producer for AC/DC."
Accept - Breaker: ‘Starlight’, ‘Breaker’, ‘Run If You Can’, ‘Can`t Stand The Night’, ‘Son Of A bad girl’, ‘Burning’, ‘Feelings’, ‘Midnight Highway’, ‘Breaking Up Again’ and ‘Down And Out’.
Says Udo, “I would say that this album is the result of pure anger (note: I destroyed 3 microphones during the production). Following our experiences with I'm A Rebel we made it our goal not to be influenced musically by anyone outside of the band this time. One example are the lyrics of ‘Son of a bad girl’ that are absolutely anti record company. With this album you can say that the Accept sound was born, and brought us attention across Europe and a tour with Judas Priest. Furthermore, this album was a starting point for many musicians to begin playing their own music."
Accept - Restless & Wild: ‘Fast As A Shark’, ‘Restless And Wild’, ‘Ahead Of The Pack’, ‘Shake Your Heads’, ‘Neon Nights’, ‘Get Ready’, ‘Demons Night’, ‘Flash Rockin` Man’, ‘Don`t Go Stealing My Soul Away’ and ‘Princess Of The Dawn’.
Says Udo, “This is surely the most important Accept album. ‘Fast As A Shark’ is considered by many to be the very first speed metal song written, not to mention the unusual intro (which was sung by a 12 year old Dieter Dierks together with a girl who remains unknown to us). You could say that ‘Princess Of The Dawn’ and ‘Fast As A Shark’ are considered classics today. With this album, America came calling for the first time... and the rest is history."
