I can't believe I paid money to see that film... Then again, it was a chapter in history I hadn't been aware of before.

Followed a little while later by... Man, I loved this song as a kid. What a change it made! No one have ever heard that kind of sound and they just went gaga over it. Put it along side "Broken Wings" and find a group of similar songs and I could still listen to that for hours.

The Last Samurai, or whatever it was. Somehow I thought. And you didn't like that... Hm, I liked that movie a lot.

The story was a good choice for a film but the production suffered from three things: Writing, Directing, and Acting. Plus, any movie Tom Cruise is in is going to have issues. He's a very one dimensional actor.
IMO, the whole picture was one big melodrama that didn't really do a good job with background and didn't really present the story properly.

Awesome riff! Unfortunately those trills were always a tad fast for me.

Aye, Tom Cruise is not the greatest actor on Earth. He stepped out from the shade of his one dimensional character in some scenes of Mission Impossible 3, though. Plus this samurai movie could give some to a karate guy like once was me. For example with the "no mind" scene. But to each their own
