The album is a massive improvement over "We Are 1" and the DATOG material. My only gripe is the guitar tone (or maybe style of playing in general) feels a little thin. Every tune has the hallmarks of an U.D.O. record but something feels 'lighter' about it. Empirically, I know the some songs have an angry subject matter but I'm not detecting much genuine aggression. It has a general vibe closer to Thunderball/Mission No. X than the last couple and nowhere like the mechanical attack of the 'TOR' era. At 17 total tracks (including the Jap bonus) it's a lot to take in, so may be a grower. i agree with you. i like most of this ablum. i also find to be on the "lighter" side musically, or maybe production. it doesn't have that typical loud, bass heavy, angry sound that we've come to love about heavy metal production. but maybe this is good?!? why follow the trends of the day? i don't know.

I think it comes down to the 2020 separate recording locations. Very much a weaker, digital guitar sound that was probably being emailed back and forth in audio files as the album came together. I always hear similar hollowness on friends' home recorded songs.

I am not happy with this new album, but I am happy for those who are happy. I do not find heart and soul from this new album. Like A Beast and Midnight Stranger are the only songs I like. And I can always listen to Steelfactory and Steelhammer albums and enjoy of them with full force.

The only song I don't like that much is I don't Wanna Say Goodbye. Plus the soundworld... The Kaufmann-like choruses don't help a bit. But I suppose they weren't able to record real gang vocals because the covid circumstances. I See Red, Like a Beast are my fav songs after the first some listening sessions.

Well, to me its a very good UDO album. What I really like about it and its predeccessor , We are 1, is an epic scale. Different music styles , several melodies in one track, sound effects- I love it. The producer have made music very fast and punchy and vibe of this album is lightfull. Another «pro” is guitar work - sparkling and fast. Sometimes guitar plays Accept , sometimes it gives away Mathias Dith style and it all is arranged wtih original signature of Andrey Smirnov. Excellent work, not just a guitar work but music arrangement as well . I even asked Andrey on his Instagram : who was a hero of this album, producer or the band? The only answer I have got was “like» . So , let it be mutual achievement ) So this album is UDO which I like , fresh juice heavy metal, fast, positive and varied. As for «contras» , to me its the same all UDO of all the previous periods. But , compared to new «KK Priest» album ( really great album ) , UDO is much better in composition . As for “ 2 Mean 2 Die” - Wolf still remains the «King of Mean riff» to me, while Andrey tends to fast and melodical tunes) so from this point of view, 2M2D is angrier and more metal than «Game over». But from all the other points of view, I place «Game over» higher than 2M2D. As for 2021 album of Helloween, it has the same epic scale and even Michael Kiske on the microphone but it does not include so many catchy music like «Game over». I am happy to speak out that at the time new UDO is the album of the year to me.

I See Red is the third one I like. But otherwise no thank you. The production sucks for my ears. But interesting that we like the same songs. BTW, I won't buy this album. Not that I could afford it.

And I thank God for DATOG EP. God has thought of me, too.

Haha! Now we are on the right track again. Though I liked DatOG it didn't impress me as much as Game Over! I like the variety of songs and the good melodies. Well, it has its own faults but all in all I like it and gonna buy it if it will appear in a shop near me.

So , friends, I have read a review if «Game over» album. «New album of German POWER METAL band U.D.O.»
It was strange as we always thought of Accept beeing a true heavy metal band and later UDO as their successors. Wnat do Yiu think : is it right to cal UDO a power metal band today?
