I do not understand why the sound world in the most songs is revraptorized...it makes the songs quite unlistenable.

I took a quick listen to Celebrator on Wimp (spotify like program) today. Most songs were bad, but X-T-C for example was really cool So the best song on the album is done by Accept and that cover version is done in the late 90's (If I remember right)

Listened to the first CD today. Well... not the first CD but the songs of it Man... Does Udo really think that this crap is the right way to celebrate his 60th? All the unreleased songs are without originality. Listening to the aimless solos, the from the same mould verses and the nonsense lyrics, covered by the shade of the drum-machine mountains I had a feeling that this band has nothing new to say...

Man A King Ruler is a great song...not heard that on this new cd, but on Wrong Side... EP it is great, just like Streets Of Sin. Are those song revraptorized on this new album?

I had to come here to see what you people are saying about this new album. I just heard it today. U.D.O. is not one of my favorite bands any more. I cannot listen to any of their new music. The production makes hurts my head. It's not enjoyable and I will not listen to it. But I do like to give things a try. So I heard this and I don't like it either. It's just more bad production. One of the reasons I don't come here any more is because the albums are so bad now. They have one specific formula for writing songs and I don't like it. It's the same thing over and over again. Every single time. I tip my hat to those of you who do like it. You are stronger than I am.
That is my 2 cents.

Hey, Phil...I hope you know that this forum is not an official anymore, because the majority of the forum members give criticism about the direction of UDO nowadays. I also think the majority here doesn't like the new UDO stuff at all.
I spend time here because here the spirit among the forum members is excellent. People respect each others here, a thing which doesn't happen anywhere in any metal music related forums. Even on Accept forum some members go to a personal level and are stupid in that sense.

I must say I like the way XTC has been remixed! The version on Tribute sucks as far as the solo goes.

After one listening: no, they aren't... By the way I don't really understand their concept to choose the songs for this compilation... Not all the EP songs are there but there's Azrael which is not a rarity... It had a good position on the live setlist voting - would that be the reason why it is on Celebrator? Is there a different solo in X-T-C this time?

Is there a different solo in X-T-C this time? I think there is. However I may remember incorrectly. When I listened to that tribute version YEARS ago, I didn't like that version of XTC, because the solo sounded bad. Then again if comparing the solos of today in UDO, everything done before sounds good.

Have to check that solo.
Not only the solos were better before... Listening to those 2 CDs I had a feeling that the drum computer sound was better on the pre-tor era (but still 2nd era) albums.

I definitely agree with you Tomcat about the drum machine/computer drum sounds being better on the pre-TOR 2nd era albums. Hell, the drum machines used for Mean Machine and Faceless World are programmed better IMO than the "-TOR" albums. I can't bring myself to pick up "Celebrator." I think I'll have to 'enjoy' it vicariously through all of your opinions.

to phill - i`m lonely defender of the U.D.O. music here now and i like to be here very much! If you don`t like, stay and writing on the wall! U.D.O. is very good band and i still say like this: after 10 years from now you say celebrator was good ! Remember Udo no play forever and each cd like this can be last.
