People tend to forget the bass playing and drumming of Accept. To me the Accept sound consisted of Wolf's guitar playing, Peter's and Kaufmann's tightest rhythm section on Earth and Udo's vocals.
Don Dokken said in a Metal Hammer interview when they made the Don Dokken Up From The Ashes record that the band Dokken tried to have the tight rhythm section in the vein of Accept without success. In the Don Dokken days he was glad that Peter Baltes was in his band. I also say that having Mikkey Dee in that band the rhythm section was great.
I guess you guys also remember Kaufmann's furious drumming in Fast As A Shark.
Today the situation is almost the same: they have the best guitar player, the best bass guitar player and the best drummer. Mark Tornillo is no Udo, but he is an excellent singer.

I still wonder that there's hardly any mention about Accept. There WERE many Accept fans there and without Accept the place wouldn't have been crowded on that day. I really wonder the neglect of Accept in the Finnish media. I am really close of writing to Aamulehti not even mentioning about Accept.

go ahead mika!! it really helps! I guess I don't have the energy to do it...I've donealmost the same thing in 1990...Thankfully it helped UDO to get a TV appearance in Finland in 1991 during Timebomb tour when writing to the Finnish Broadcasting company. I've also written to Aamulehti and it helped also to have a story about Accept in 1996 and about UDO in Solid tour. It is just so time consuming to make good reasons why they should start to realize the significance of Accept to the revolution of metal music. And the craziest part was that in Aamulehti on Saturday they named that in Sauna today are for example Judas Priest, Queensrÿche and Tarot. Queensrÿche my arse! The stories were the kind of that Accept wasn't even there. It really is strange that there wasn't even mention about Accept. Thankfully the organizers of Sauna Open stated on their site like this: (Accept, one of the most influential bands in metal).

Well, I made my opinion clear in the netversion of Aamulehti just a minute ago. Which wasn't released... Constructive critique seems not to be their cup of tea.

OK, just watched it. Cool interview with some interesting questions and not the same boring stuff again and again. And this time Wolf talked about Udo in a really diplomatic way
