Hi everybody, I'm Alle from Italy (Accept fan since...ehm... 1982!) My two cents about Cesco. He's a kick-ass drummer, very passionate and talented - no doubt about it. But most of all he's a true rocker - which is more important, as far as I'm concerned - and an exquisite person too. I really appreciate this guy. Good luck Cesco, long live U.D.O.!

Finns, Swedes, Norwegians saw UDO with Francesco in the autumn of 2004. And yes, he is a marvellous drummer. He came in with short notice and he conquered!

Well, Fransesco won't prove it on the album since Scwarzmann revealed the secret that Kaufmann programmes all drums (or most of it) on the albums. But live he was a real kick ass drummer.

Can any of you guys tell when drums are programed? I can't.... well... except for the song Primitive, which is obvious

A friend of mine is a drummer and I asked him about the recent U.D.O. albums. He said: Definitley no drum computer!

that's a load of crap. i can tell when i hear them because i have bands in studio that use them so i am familiar with them. although i had always thought that u.d.o. drums were triggers and not programed. the schwarzmann interview shocked me and made me mad at kaufmann for deceiving people this way!

If Stefan Scwarzmann says that he just drummed a little and that the rest was programmed it is that way. We have no reason to disbelieve Scwarzmann I think. However I am not a producer but on Holy I really think the drums does not sound alive. It sounds like a machine...

And another thing...When UDO has played live, the drum playing has been so equivalent to the UDO albums. On the gigs there is not definitely programmed drums. And on Accept live album All Areas - World Wide for example the drumming in What Else is the same kind of as on Death Row album and also it was the same kind on the Accept gigs. Programmed drums or not, it is odd that on live concerts the drumming is the same kind of as on the records. So in that sense Accept and UDO drummers are "machines". ;D I don't know that much of recording technology, but I think computers are used in some ways... All in all to me the most important thing is how a band plays live. When UDO or Accept have played I have enjoyed it every time really much. There is no band who plays better than them. ;D

I disagree big times, the drums sounds much more alive when playing live. And about ALL AREAS, I think it's one of the worst live albums I've heard, it sounds like a studio album with some sound noise on it. Even if I am a hardcore fan of ACCEPT/U.D.O. I can still be objective about things regarding my heroes. I don't have to say that they do everything best. Even if I think their songs are the best! Kaizoku Ban is a great live record just becuase it's an authentic live album, the way I want them. Also one thing is funny Mika, Udo said in an interview that Schwarzmann is like a machine ;

I must have been too vague. I didn't actually mean the sound itself but the rhythm of the drums and the fills. The rhythm goes the same way as on the albums and also the fills. I can't find the right English words what I am meaning. The pace of the hitting the drums are quite near to the thing which can be heard on the records. And the hits are alike as well. And about live gigs Priest was good in Tampere this year but there were moments when I was yawning that never has happened on UDO or Accept gig. And I was on Helloween Chameleon tour sometime in the 90's and they didn't play so well back then and they had the appraised drummer Uli Kusch or whatever the name is behind the drum kit. That is my lousiest concert experience ever. I have always been so pleased after UDO and Accept gigs.

Yes the rhytm is close to the albums, but I think it is no problem for any good drummer to play these songs. And don't get me wrong, I like the drums on U.D.O.'s albums...
