Could it be that it should be: "morituri te salutant from L., lit. "those about to die salute you," words addressed to emperor by gladiators upon entering the arena. Third person sing. is moriturus te salutat, first person sing. is moriturus te saluto. "?

The best song on Thunderball is Blind Eyes. This one is one hell of the ballad. It's ranked third on my list what comes about U.D.O.-ballads.

That is good one indeed. To me only Accept ballad Writing On The Wall is better than Blind Eyes and I am actually meaning real ballads not the ones like Heaven Is Hell etc.

Found this via one clip on Facebook. Time flies, that was 16 years ago when I started to listen to U.D.O. I remember that maybe one year before i found U.D.O., it was between Man and machine and Thunderball.

I googled for "Mortui te salutant!" but couldn't find any good answers. Can you (or some on else) translate it? And yes, I also think The Bullet and the bomb are my favourite now when I've listened even more to Thunderball or maybe Fistfull of anger or maybe Pull the trigger or maybe Thunderball or maybe.. No seriously there's to many good tracks on that cd to choose just one.. / Chipwreck Mortui - mortals Te - You ( du - German, Te - East Eurponean ) Salutant - glorify ( Slava is still just Glory in Moslem and East European languages. For instance, I am Stanislav - Stand of Slava . In English its was shortened to Stanly). Moslems say : Salauat , with exatly the same meaning. The momunemt to Salauat Julaev in Ufa, Russia. In Latin his name is Glorius Julius. Latin is rather easy to understand . You are just to recognise familiar roots and thats it. In todays Russian “Mortui te salutant” sounds like “Mertui te slaut” . Official translation of “mortui te salutant” is too strange : “bound to death, they hail You”. Meaning is the same but etimology is too hard to understand. Do they hide it on purpose? I think that probably vocabularies just cant find the lost key to it. They just cant tell it for more clear . This way it sounds like abrakadabra even it should not.

As for my fave track on Thunderball, its Fistfull of Anger. Though there is a bucketfull of killers on there.
