I put the inteview into the funny-English online translator, but I don’t share the whole result with you because it’s hard to understand… and find a way ;D
Here’s the summary:
In the first part the reporter asks Udo about his best places in Moscow and the shows in Russia. Does he have free time to go for a walk in the cities and things like this…
Then they talk about the tour. Udo says there’ll be shows together with Primal Fear and several concerts without them. They will rest at the end of the year and then continue the tour in the USA and Canada.
Then a good question comes: .U.D.O. does lots of concerts in every year so what’s the reason they don’t have a live DVD yet? The answer is the following (I’m not sure if I understand it word by word):
„Udo: (laughs) Yes, we exactly prepare it, we write songs on the concerts during the stage and not only, here and the materials of this person (again laughs and indicates the operator of group, removing proceeding by professional camera) will enter compulsorily on DVD.”
Later they talk about the Mastercutor album and the way of the songwriting. Udo says there’s nothing been changed since the Thunderball album in this matter. He thinks Mastercutor is the best album of .U.D.O. at the moment.
Then the reporter asks him about the Russian version of Cry Soldier Cry. Udo says that it was hard to combine the rhythm with the Russian language.
About the Best of album Udo says that this album will leave in the following year ( The homepage says that the release day will be in December - this year…) and there’ll be unreleased trax on it.
Another good question: Why don’t they play songs from such albums as Mean Machine, Timebomb and No Limits? Udo says they have lots of albums and tones of good songs so if they would play all of them then one show would take more than two hours…
So… that’s it.
Thanx for the linx Eugene! Those pictures are so great! The band is in top form as I see on the photos Udo is a great master of ceremony. By the way he has a new medal on his necklace – at least I haven’t seen that wheel before…
