So some interesting things I took from peter's interview... First, he looks quite a bit different than the last time I saw him. Gotta be the hair! Second, his mom is still around. That's cool! Third, I didn't know he played with a really heavy pick. When I was trying to do guitar, I settled on a 0.73 Dunlop Tortex (the yellow ones) but got an array of picks for experimentation. I decided that for bass, a 0.88 works better because you need a bit less give there. That, or a fender celluloid heavy but the edges felt too round and didn't grab the way I wanted it to. Fattest pick I got was a 2.0 or a 2.5mm pick and I did *NOT* like the sound of it! One summer, for my birthday, Accept was playing in Santa Clara either that day or one day off. I took that chance to go over and see them as a present to myself. I was able to spend the evening sitting with Cheri and Johanna. Didn't talk to Johanna much but she seemed a nice gal and the two of them seemed like sisters, the way they sat there and chatted at each other all evening. I got the impression that they had become very good friends during their time together. Some here may know that I'm a bass player. I mainly play using fingers but when I do use a pick, I use 2.0 mm Dunlop Tortex picks. I find that the thick pick gauge is really needed to have that bite, especially on the E string (or B string on a 5 or 6 string bass).

I saw a video with one person who said right at the start of the video, "If you want to be a good bass player, the first thing you need to do is to get the thickest pick you can find." For me, thicker picks sound a lot darker and that's not the tone I wanted to hear but if you're *really* going on the strings, I can see that and, as Peter states, the benefit of a triangular pick so you can use all three corners before you have to toss it into the audience because it's useless anymore. For the guitar players, some of what they want (I found from my own experience) is that sharp edge on the new pick. So they get rid of it after ever song just so that they have that fresh pick every time that will really grab the strings without slipping.

Now that Peter has joined, the .U.D.O. will probably play more ACCEPT classics. As for the Dirkschneider concerts, I hope there will be some songs sung by Peter. I would like to listen to Crossroads, for example.

I would like to listen to Crossroads, for example. Personally, I hope not. Meaning, I hope that in U.D.O., they continue to focus on almost entirely only U.D.O. songs, and leave the Accept classics and lesser known Accept songs for Dirkschneider. Not that it really matters for folks like Darren, John, azwayne or me since I think it's unlikely that Udo will ever play more shows in the U.S. again : (

I would be the happiest fan if .U.D.O. would play only .U.D.O. songs. Yet I think that now that Peter is in the .B.A.N.D. they believe fans want to hear more ACCEPT songs from them.
