And now that I have listened for example Steelhammer....what is wrong with the sound world now with the newest album. Same kind of problem like I had with Game Over. The name of that problem is Stefan Kaufmann... Not that the sound of modern era ACCEPT albums bites or claws. Both bands need to change their producers. Well, I liked the guitar sound on DATOG, albeit Kaufmann was there in the production.

^Also the drumsound was much better. Well, Stefan did the mastering on Touchdown. Producer and mixing engineer of the album was Mattes.

I am back from Turkey and the first thing I did was Touchdown album..
I like it , production is just great and thorougly done , guitars are detailed and fast.
Contras : 1. Composition . It looks like they get the same rabbit out of the hat. 90% of album is a copy-paist of its predecessors. A very good copy-paist, still the copy-paist. 2. Vocals . Udo is just a shadow of his old good times . Mark Tornillo is much more convincing now. 3. Style. Typical mainstream power . I cant find heavy metal here. Its like I have ordered orange fresh and found chemichal juice in there. “Death to the false metal”.
Still new album breaks on heaven and earth and its good.
As for my faves : Living hell, Touchdown.

Isolation Man is by far my favourite Song on the album. Great metal track. I love the Guitar playing all over the album , I think the Guitarplayer try to be Wolf in some parts but it's ok, Wolf Is the master. As I said the production is a bit muddy, Udo sounds good, but his voice is a bit buried in the mix here and there. I think Too Mean To Die had a great production, and it's a fantastic metal album, I almost like It more Than BOTN in some parts. U.D.O. should try a cleaner production like that. It took a lot of listens to fully understand the potential of the new tunes

Welcome back Stas! Hope your stay in Turkey went good Well, I think we listen to two different albums I myself don't consider this production great and thoroughly done. And I wouldn't say Udo is a shadow of himself. Just the opposite! Udo is great and the production is weak

Well, Csaba, thanks , it was great among international public there, I ve met one famous Russian actor dynasty there … actually, Turkey still has an islamic traditional core inside so they have no respect for naked women. As for the level of life there, people have lost that respectabilty they had about 10 years ago. Salaries are coming down. Actually I like turkish people, they are rather fair and positive. Now I am about to listen to “Touchdown” for the second time, who knows. What I mean by good production of that album , is that its done very detailed . But its not heavy, not “mean cat” enough. Its a power metal. But its what they wanted from producer . Comparing it to “Code red” by Primal Fear, I prefer UDO as its more varied. “Code red” looks better then “Metal Commando” but stil it cant reach their older days.

It's better than Game Over, I'll give it that. Same production issues. Light guitar.
The most intense songs are the best = Betrayer, Sad Man's Show...also like Battle Understood, The Flood and Double Dealer's Club. Some nice vitriol.

Fight for the Right has a really good chorus and guitar solo, but it would benefit from some mellower vocals in the verse parts. If he's screaming from start to finish, it's just not that effective.

nothing has changed for me after many listens to the album. my favorites are still Sad Mans Show and The Betrayer. the guitar work is so good on the album, that's for sure. i do wish it was all more aggressive sounding though.

I don't like the sound. The whole record has a nasal tone somehow.

this album is really growing on me, but i must say that after all this time, my opinion of my favorite songs has not changed a bit. and actually, the title track is the weakest song on the album in my opinion.

I don't even remember the day when I listened to the album for the last time. I don't feel the need. I'm so sorry for that...

i just listened to it again last night because i had a 1 1/2 hour drive to make to another city. it's good background music, that's for sure. i wouldn't seek it out but i always let it play when it comes on.

Maybe I'm captain obvious here, but has it been mentioned that Sad Man's Show sounds like it's written about Wolf/Accept? Have been listening to Touchdown (and the last few other U.D.O. albums) recently, since the tour is coming up in about a month, and still the only songs I really dig are Fight for the Right and Isolation Man. Touchdown (the song) sounds really powerful, but the lyrics are so cringy - "helmet against helmet", really? Touchdown could've been a decent metaphor for something else, a battle in war or some other challenge in personal life that every listener could relate to, but no, they had to make it strictly about American football. As a whole, I definitely prefer Game Over, but I'm still not sure how Touchdown compares to Steelfactory, at least it doesn't have any songs as bad as Hungry and Angry.

^Maybe you're right about Sad Man's Show. Writing songs about Wolf is not a seldom thing in the .U.D.O. camp. It happened before (Two Faced Woman, Under Your Skin for example). A childish thing in my opinion but that's their own right to decide what to write their songs about.
