It was a great year.
1. Doro - Forever Warriors / Forever United.
25 tracks, 6 years of work. Deep emotions and great hard-n heavy
2. UDO Steelfactory. Its often in my car in my portable player. Good mood , a drug of heavy metal.
3. Primal Fear - Apocalypse . This album finally made me a fan of the band.
4. Accept - Symphmonic Terror. A great work . Blue Ray with great picture and a CD. Probably he final album with Peter Baltes .
5 . Judas Priest - Firepower. Epic. It pushes me into a sea of red. I even bought vynil , my first of the band.
Russian bands this year made some great albums and I cant ignore it.
6. Aria - as usual, their albums are made for decades. If You still play metal for 40 years, youmcan really burn.
7.Kipelov. This year he reached 60 and his album was a killer .

Update! I had a dream of consisting a top 10 album list. And I will achieve it. So far I have the 6 best albums in order already. So there is anymore only 4 albums to be put in order. However the difficult part is which those last 4 albums will be in the top ten. Those 4 last albums will come from these countries: Germany, USA, Norway, Switzerland or Sweden. The toughest competition will be between USA, Norway, Switzerland and Sweden.

It is ready...I just need to write it down and make some sort of reasoning. Maybe this week. Lechery did not make it to the top 10 list. I was trying to put consistent albums to the top 10 list. Still not all of them are consistent. And I know you are not agreeing with me with the list. But that is just normal way of life.

Yes Brother. It's always good and satisfying to know that you and I don't agree. If we are agreeing then there's something wrong:) Except the important things like Restless and Wild, Wolf Hoffmann, Stefan Schwarzmann and some more

I was a little bit of waiting album lists from other forum members, too. Here is my peculiar, odd, strange and astonishing Top 10 list. No, it was not Judas Priest, who was the winner, no, no. To my liking they made a great album though. I really loved Steelfactory album. No, U.D.O. didn't get the first place from me either. Then I also loved Powerwolf's album. Were they the number one? Ye...no they were not. My number one was a total suprise and I really straight away fell in love with their album. Others had no chance passing by that album. Lately there have been icy roads and surfaces in Finland during this winter. So what could be the best choice for the number one than the Finnish power metal band called Frozen Land. And they are from my home city: Tampere! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 01. Frozen Land - Frozen LandClassic and full of cliches, but I like it! 02. U.D.O. - SteelfactoryPlaying Accept songs over and over and over on the never ending DIRKSCHNEIDER tour really paid off! To my liking they made a solid album which has many Accept trademarks there. The most cooliest thing maybe is that the guitar solos are well thought and there is some ideas in them. This is how they manage live: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jZzE8LyGZw03. Powerwolf - The Sacrament Of SinCan "metal" music go more pop than this? It hardly can, but still I like this. The main emphasis is on the keyboards/organ playing. In some way this reminds me of chuch music. I now declare this Powerwolf album to their best to date. I can easily think that some people hate this kind of, would I say, fashion metal. 04. Judas Priest - FirepowerThey came back. They really did! 05. Manimal - PurgatorioManimal comes from Sweden. This is their third record. They have been quite slow in releasing albums since their debut came already in 2009. Their second album was vocal wise quite over the top action: the singer sang high notes. Maybe for me it is too extreme. Instrumental wise their 2nd album was good. Their third album now is more mature than their previous album. More mature means that the singer does not go mad with his voice anymore and the music is a little bit more approachable. This band has always had a soft spot in my heart. I would love to see them live. 06. Brainstorm - Midnight GhostI have always would have liked to love this band. They play quite basic US power metal albeit they come from Germany. The singer is not a typical power metal vocalist which is one of the reasons I like them. They have two excellent albums under their belt: Downburst (2008) and Liquid Monster (2005). They are somewhat strange band...at least lately they have been like that. What I mean by that? Well, they have released albums in a cycle like this: when they made a bad album, the next one is a good album which gets hopes high. Then the next album is again bad. But still I come back to them. Their previous album was Scary Creatures and that was not my cup of tea. So there was a chance that Midnight Ghost could be a good album. And yes it was! 07. Crystal Ball - CrystallizerThe melodic metallers/hard rockers from Switzerland made a good record again despite Kaufmann being their producer. The sound world is not so plastic as one could expect. I like this album! 08. Circle Of Silence - The Crimson ThroneThis is one of the so called newcomer bands which I like. They play sort of mix of thrash/power metal. They stick loyal to their style. However a bull's eye record is missing from these young metallers. Maybe some day... 09. Holter - Vlad The ImpalerTrond Holter and his guitar playing and the tone he is using appeals to me! I like his style, too. Nothing new in this band either... 10. Axel Rudi Pell - Knights CallMy fave album from Pell is his debut album Wild Obsession. He has some good songs in his repertoire, but his albums always seem to miss something. The previous album I have liked from him is Oceans Of Time (1998). So it was a time to make an album which is consistent and which have those good songs. At first I did not like this album, but one day it started to grow on me. This is nostalgic stuff: it combines the good things about 70's end and early 80's heavy rock. It is good to notice that one can still enjoy of good music and there comes pleasant surprises from time to time, even from the veteran musicians. All in all I liked the music year of 2018. It was difficult to make this list.

Thank you, sir! Then there could also be a list of the good songs from 2018. There were quite many of them. There were many albums which as a whole were not so great, but had couple of cool songs. Doro didn't make it to the top 10 list of mine, but I think I'll have to return to her record. I was stupid and only listened to it for a couple of times.
What is cool is that one can return to older albums and even find older albums later. And maybe there are albums which much later will open up or albums which I didn't know were released in 2018.
