Looks like a have a chance to make a wish beeing between two Mika’s.
Coming back to the thread . It looks like these albums have different productions and it sounds good to me. Decadent is “light” while “Steelfactory is “dark” with its bass sound. To me Stellfactory is more heavy . Moreover, its available in hi-res stereo.
As for Udo’s voice , it sounds some lowers on Steelfactory but it can be a matter of production.
So my opinion of two albums : stylistically they are birds of the same nest. But signatures are different. My choice is Steelfactory though both of albums are excellent

i just started my listening to both albums yesterday and want to get more into it, but the first impression is that Decadent was, to me, a sort of "revenge" album. it seems to me that you could take a lot of the lyrics on that album as a shot at peter and wolf. whereas Steelfactory was written during the whole Dirkschneider tours and is very Accept oriented. some of the songs though are a blatant rip-off of some Accept songs, both guitar riff wise, and vocally. especially from the Russian Roulette album and a little bit from the Metal Heart album. but can we fault Udo for ripping himself off or for ripping his own band off?!? no! that's just the way Udo sings and writes. that's his style. you can't fault a guy for being himself and doing things the way he does things. you can't say "i don't like this because Udo sounds too much like Udo". he friggin IS Udo! hahahahaha one of the top metal voices in the world!
personally, i still like decadent more than steel factory just because it had both kasperi and andre shredding on guitar and i love that style of playing. on steelfactory, andre was definitely channeling wolfs riffs and style of playing. he did it very well, that's for sure. there are some really great moments on steelfactory that make a person say "d**n, andre is a really really really great guitar player!".
i'll keep listening though. i need more time.

Btw, I have heard an opinion that Decadent cover is a dedication to Wolf
A porttrait of Dorian Grey

I agree w John on this one. I also still prefer Decadent, BUT I need to listen more to Steelfactory for a final verdict.

i listened to both albums on the drive home yesterday and the drive to work today. i still like decadent better. i love that song "pain". but realistically, neither of these albums holds a candle to the animal house - timebomb era. that's just my 2 cents.

Don't have to listen to those two to make a decision: Steelfactory is the winner for me despite the ugly ACCEPT rip-offs. Decadent is too motley to me like they were searching for their own style on that album. Steelfactory is more coherent.

I prefer Steelfactory, too. There are clear Accept rip offs, but that is how I like my metal to be, when either UDO or Accept is the artist.
I was not happy with The Rise of Chaos album by Accept. In that matter Udo and co did a marvellous job.
As for Decadent, to me it was a disappointment and it was very incoherent for my taste.
When reflecting the UDO albums of the era Smirnov has been in the band, I have noticed that when he has handled the guitar duties alone, the result has been great. At least for my taste.

it seems like the 3 of us agree to some extent that steelfactory is more like what we expect from Udo, but some of the songs on decadent are just way better, like Pain, Under your Skin, etc..

I like Decadent and give it about my best mark. The main thing I dislike is its cover. From the other hand even cover is good and emotional. Full of negative emotions

yeah, that cover is terrible. the only one worse is dominator. i don't think anybody liked either of those covers even from the very beginning.

Yes but while Udo himself dislike the Dominator cover he took the Decadent cover under his shelter.
