Meaning Soupfly? Uninvited guest in one's soup. Or in band/management...everything goes.

I guess even the second Dirkschneider tour is his idea. A very bad idea to do another tour instead of a .U.D.O. album and tour.

you know, it probably wouldn't be so bad to do that 2nd Dirkschneider tour if they went to different cities this time. i mean, for me, i blew my meager savings and gave up paying gigs to go to see Udo in Las Vegas because i thought it was the last time i'd get to see him play and hear the original voice on those Accept songs. if he, or frank s., think i'm going to go to another show next year to see it again, they are out of their frigging minds. the farewell is the farewell.
i went to see the first Kiss farewell tour back on the day when they had brought all the original members back and this was going to be the last time. so i paid the high price for the ticket, paid the high price for the shirt ... only to see that Kiss was continuing the "farewell" tour. i felt so cheated and ripped off. they have been here 4 or 5 more times since then and i haven't gone to see it one other time. to me, when they said farewell, and i went to that show, i said farewell too. i'm not going to pay over and over to say farewell!!
it's like visiting your grandma and kissing her goodbye before you get in the car to leave, then back out of the driveway a couple of feet, stop the car, get out and kiss her goodbye again, back the car out a little further, stop, get out and kiss her goodbye again, and so on. who does that?!??!

"7th annual going out of business sale"
Nothing is more cliche in the music business than the "farewell tour".

i just saw that they are going to be here in phoenix in march next year. i'll see how i feel at that time, if i want to go or not. it's the same place that i saw Primal Fear, Lordi and a bunch of other bands.
thanks Kenneth for the heads up on facebook!

it really all depends on if my band is playing that same night. i lose money if i don't play music and i lost a decent amount the weekend i went to vegas to see them. that's a saturday night so it's a pretty strong possibility that i'll be playing.

I may attend one of those dates, but to be quite honest, I can't afford the trip to and from nowadays so easily nowadays. The closest that I can get to a respectable metal show is four hours' worth of driving between cities, and then finding a cheap motel to stay at is another painful task.
The average price for a show is also another factor for me staying away from them in general, unless it's a very small venue that lets you go up front as you please and just have a great time. I had to pay forty dollars for the crappiest spot when I saw King Diamond a few years ago, and while the show was totally worth it, it's not something that I can really do often. I did get to see Satan an hour later, and it was a small venue that charged way less for entry, so I got my break there. I also got to meet some of the band members and chat with them for a while. I didn't have to pay a single penny to do that. I wish that metal would go back to the underground, for-the-fans mentality. I don't like the concept of paying to hang out with a musician. I do understand that it's necessary for bigger musical acts, but you know what I mean. I just think that band members who are more receptive to their fans are the ones who generally have more respect overall.

Yeah, these meet and greets are a kind of robbery. We pay for the albums, T-shirts, tickets and all. Why to pay for say them hello?
Luckily the ACCEPT guys don't do such things.

Luckily the ACCEPT guys don't do such things. they did on the blood of the nations tour. I think it was only $75.00 or so. I got in cause I was on the accept forums at the time and joe arranged for members to get into the meet & greet no charge.
