Timebomb, of course! "Metal Eater", the title track, and "Thunderforce" are just some of the standouts off that album for me.
I like the first three albums, but there are some problems with them. First, Animal House is technically an Accept album, so it's not really a pure U.D.O. album by virtue of songwriting. Second, although Mean Machine and Faceless World brought us closer to the core of U.D.O.'s sound, they don't stray too far off from sounding more like slightly hard rock versions of classic Accept. I feel that by 1991 and onwards, the ball got rolling, but since Udo Dirkschneider went back to Accept in the mid-1990s, the gap during the achieved peak of creativity is rather irritating.
Then again, as soon as he was back in the game, Solid proved to be a worthy comeback release. No Limits is also frigging amazing, with some of the heaviest songs ever recorded with Dirkschneider at the helm, outmatching even Accept's prime years in terms of heaviness. Holy is another undisputed classic, and the formula continues onwards throughout the 2000s. I think the only recent album by U.D.O. that I don't enjoy as much is Rev-Raptor. Steelhammer and Decadent blow it out of the water!

hahahaha first of all, welcome to the forum Painkiller! so i see you share our disdain for the -tor era albums, especially rev-raptor. you can go back and read many posts about that thing. most of the people here also agree that timebomb is the bomb, but personally i like Mean Machine the very best.

Thanks for the welcome! I take it that you're one of the moderators, right? I'm not too used to ProBoards' software, so I can't really tell off the bat. It does take some time to catch up to most of the threads, though.
Anyway, yes, Mark Tornillo is just a third-rate copycat for me, much like how I feel about Todd La Torre's role in Queensrÿche. As much as Geoff Tate can be a complete jerk, he will always be the voice of that band, but that's an entirely different story from the situation between Udo Dirkschneider and Accept!

yes, i am the only moderator of the forum. the software is easy to navigate once you get used to it. enjoy your time here and share all the opinions you wish. this is a very friendly board, everyone here are good friends and easy to get along with. kinda like Udo himself. although i don't agree with you about Mark, it is a totally different style so i kinda look at this new Accept as a new and different band and, quite frankly, wish they would use a different name because this band is nothing like the original band. it's still good, it's just different and they kick a$$ in their own unique way.

Sounds good. It's just that I've never had any experiences with running a forum with ProBoards, so a couple of settings and layouts aren't as conventional for me as something more like phpBB or MyBB, both of which I use religiously. I'll definitely lurk around and see what I have to contribute.

Welcome to the club I'm the other Timebomb maniac here And welcome to the Forum. Hope you'll stay. We don't have so many newcomers here since the .B.A.N.D./management kicked us off from their homepage Yet some new faces appear from time to time but usually they don't stay long. Well, some say that the time of old fashioned forums is over. Anyway, please don't be shy to share your opinion - even if you think that it's differ from others'. We the members of this Forum accept the fact that opinions differ, what's more, different opinions make this world go round.
