How to top Blood of the Nations? I can tell you: with better songs Even though I adore this recent version of ACCEPT - Blood of the Nations is not a classic in my eyes.

wow!!! i always thought it was an instant classic! while there are a few songs that i find myself skipping from time to time (with The Abyss being one that i skip ALL the time), i still cannot get enough of that album! the drumming precision alone is worth the price of the cd, then add the fact that wolf's guitar playing is back along with peter's bass playing, herman's songwriting and playing are awesome, and of course mark's vocal ability.... it's a recipe for success! ..... oh, and don't forget the production of the album!!! it's been a while since we were able to enjoy a greatly produced album from any of the original Accept members.... if you know what i mean dude!

To me the digipack version of BOTN is the first Accept album where I like all the songs. All the other Accept albums have fillers in them. To me the new Accept classic songs are: Locked And Loaded Teutonic Terror Bucket Full of Hate No Shelter I have heard only two of them live, personally.

What songs are fillers on these albums? Russian Roulette BTTW Restless & Wild Let me remind that these are only my opinions and I must also say that I love RaW the most, the great songs are phenemonally good and there are people who do not like all the BOTN songs as well: RR: Man Enough To Cry is the filler, and Heaven Is Hell is a song that should have been only 4 minutes long, it's too repetitive for my taste. BTTW: Turn Me On and Winterdreams are fillers to me, even though I must say I love both Winterdreams live versions really much. Restless And Wild: Demon's Night is a song I skip every time nowadays when listening to the record. And again I must say I love the live version of Demon's Night. I must again underline that people have different kind of tastes and opinions. I love all the songs in BOTN and that is quite an achievement if we think about the length of that album. And as I said this is the first time that it happened so. Still to me Accept is the band for me.

Haha! What a tsunamy of words I started So how could Blood of the Nations be a classic to me if there are skip tunes on it? Usually I don't have skip tunes on any of the classic ACCEPT albums. From Breaker to Russian Roulette there are no fillers or strange songs to me. But for example on Death Row there are lots of strange ones and as far as Predator goes... well, there are mainly strange tunes on that album.

"Demon^s Night" is a filler for me too. Just another sing with the same idea.
A for " Man enough to cry"- I like it very much. Probably because I listened to it often on CD-casette "Metal Hammer -compilation". Song is courages, text good and solo is outstanding.
As well as "Stand tight"- RR finishes with such great songs. Musically they are better then beginning of the album.
As for "Heaven and Hell" - its sounds like concept song- I really like it . But meaning is awfull.

Tsunami of words keeps this forum alive and well, especially when it is done in good spirit. Wow! I didn't remember that you Tomcat need to skip songs on BOTN. And even though I love Death Row album and regard it as a classic to me, I can't stand those instrumentals in it. Funny thing: I love that Elgar composition on Wolf's Classical cd, but not on DR. ;D So how about you forum members: do you like Wolf Hoffmann - Classical cd? I do and even that album has a song I skip. And that song is Bolero.

I almost agree with Tomcat's words. For me there isn't skip songs from Breaker till Roulette. There were few songs which were a little bit weaker than hits, but years are going and I have different view to the music. For example, Demons' Night I listened from the cassette in my childhood and I didn'l liek it, but when I got R&W cd, ALL tracks sounds great from this album. Hoffmann - Classical album is my search object No 1 on ebay now I don't know about skip songs, but I have favourite song on that album - Moldau.

@stas: If you think that the meaning of Heaven is Hell is awful then I'm afraid you've misunderstood the lyrics. Maybe the problem is - as many times - that the lyrics are written from a special view. Those things that Udo sings in that one are not his or the band's thoughts. They tried to see the things from the view of some fanatic religious leaders. Many of the lyrics on Russian Roulette were written that way. For example TV War is about people watching other people dying on TV. Even though the lyrics says "Let's gamble and guess who will win" the song itself is just against this attitude. The song Monsterman is about euthanasia but the ACCEPT guys don't tell you if it's good or bad - they just make you think about it. Another Second to Be is about a man is dying in AIDS - but of course none of the boys had AIDS

OK, let it be this topic. Thanks for explanation , Tom- it is really new for me and I find it deep,... Firstly, a very interesting music analisys of AccepT tunes by Andris - www.accept-archive.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29&start=45Joe Lamont 79 / Accept 85 - 81 - Midnight Mover / Midnight Highway As for "Heaven is Hell"- I just bought Japan vynil and can read text in big font .. Lets touch the text- It shows the wrong attitude to religion- "its always good for troubles to have a Holy Ghost"- how men lost faith wishing material Heaven here on Earth not spiritual. About books ( Bible or Koran) where everything is written. And this attitude to Christianity as just to a Code of Law is wrong. This critics is just, I agree. And then- " We all nknows these perverts...They sell poop for gold" Is it about priests preaching religion in a wrong way? So the song pictures monstereous souls and monstereous morality, I agree- now it all is this way. But text just declares- we are almost in Hell, accept it. It should show right the way. The way out of Hell, the way to Heaven.
