well dude, i appreciate the desire to turn this into a vykyng forum, but vykyng already has a forum and this forum is really much bigger than anything vykyng can handle. it will become a metal forum with just a single u.d.o. topic as well as a single vykyng topic, and so on. but i really don't want to interrupt the flow of the forum too much and besides, this forum isn't about me or vykyng. we're just along for the ride. but let me make one thing perfectly clear... (holy crap, is that the ghost of richard nixon?!?)... this forum is not going anywhere. the people that are here now are far too important to me and to each other to let it go to waste just because someone on the other side of the world from me has decided to take a link down from a very obscure band website. this forum has always been more about the people and our friendships than it has been about u.d.o. anyway. Udo, the person, the vocalist has been our common bond and will continue to be that way, but it's the people here that make this place special and will continue to do so. there is no need to worry about censorship here. if you want to post good or bad things about any band out there, you are free to do it here. the original rules of the forum still apply. and of course, no personal attacks are allowed. sometimes the cost of freedom is tough to handle with some posts, but as long as everyone is on the same page, it's easier to get through that stuff. and we've done it now for years and years and we'll continue for as long as we all want it. u.d.o. has shown their hand to us and proven that they don't fully understand freedom and would rather continue with their censorship of anything negative. instead of making better music, they have chosen to try to shutdown those of us who don't like what they are doing. that ain't going to happen. once you've given a man freedom, you can never take it back!! i will say one thing though. i will say this with 100% confidence too. if u.d.o. ever does get a "good enough offer from promoters" and does come to the u.s., if they play in phoenix, i will schedule a vykyng show for the same night and i guarantee we will outdraw u.d.o. (unless they come with some major act like maiden or priest or someone like that! ) that's not saying much though. i know from my year 2000 experience where i flew across the country to see u.d.o. to find out the show was cancelled due to low advance ticket sales. they'd sold ONE ticket in advance, and that was ME!!! a show in ohio and the only advance ticket was the douchebag from phoenix!! hahahaha I figured that there already was a Vykyng forum, but it was just an idea. If you do put on a Vykyng show the same night as an U.D.O. show in Phoenix, let me know. I'll be the douchebag from Tacoma there. It would be even better if you guys could pull it off to do a short west coast tour that plays on all the same nights and cities as the U.D.O. tour; you guys would probably blow them out of the water in terms of ticket sales. Of course, you don't actually have to worry about doing any of this since the odds of an U.D.O. tour anywhere in the United States in my lifetime are about as good as Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Olivia Wilde, Simone Simons, Rachel Nichols, and Eva Mendes all showing up at my house in 10 minutes, ringing the door bell, and when I answer, all saying in unison that they're here "asking for my holy donation."

hahahahaha that's good dude, but i think you're dreaming man. olivia wilde isn't going to show up to your door man!! hahahaha
i know that we could outdraw them easily in phoenix. that is not even a problem. even though our promotion budget is the same as u.d.o.'s <zero>, we really do put some effort into it so that's the difference right there. i would love to do some sort of vykyng tour but we would need some more download and album sales to do that. i don't even think we've broken even yet on the album!! hahahaha but that's not important to us anyway. help spread the Vykyng word though brother, you never know what could happen!

Changed some emails with Maikel today... Got his permission to qoute this from him:
"About removing the forum link from the website. I was involved in this discussion and I totally agree with the decision to do it. It's no lie that places like Facebook, Twitter etc are the future because everybody wants to have all the information on a little smartphone... fast and easy... Traditional websites and forums will die in the near future because they are not that important anymore. For me, the "U.D.O. forum" is a place of around 15 people who share their daily life. The focus on the band isn't that important anymore. Maybe you 15 people are happy with the forum and use it day by day but there are nearly no new members in the last few months... but therefor the members on Facebook, Twitter and even on MySpace grow day by day. So, why supporting a private place of 15 people on a official band website? That's my point of view after watching the forum for months (years)."
Though I still think that it's not our fault that there are not so many new members here... I can accept his opinion. We're talking about our private life more often than about the high quality of .U.D.O. We're not die-hard fans of the band so why would they support us?
Anyway - I think we don't have to be angry with Maikel.

I do not belong to that group of everybody. Then again this forum is based on the fanhood of UDO and also Accept. With fanhood of UDO I really mean the older days when they were an honest metal band also in the studio. We can always remember those glory days. I am still hoping Maikel would be in the gig in Tampere and I could drink a beer or two with him.

am i mistaken or does it say that the facebook page has 34 members? and most of them are US!!!! i do not believe that a forum is a dying breed. it's not paid for or hosted by u.d.o. all it was, was a link to this site. it cost nothing and took zero effort. it's a link. nothing more. the excuse doesn't fly with me. the real reason is the fact that they cannot handle critism. that's all. but like i said before, that's a u.d.o. problem, not a forum problem!! here we thought we were supporting grown men and not babysitting and kissing a$$.
i still like maikel. i just don't think he's allowed to say what really happened.

I think that Udo needs support of fans now even we are only 34 men. They cant handle criticism - but here forum is really boling. I think that band understood reaction of fans - no need to critisize more and more. Yes, deleting of link is a mistake. But we should not enforce this mistake by multiplying it . As for computer drums it all started with "Timebomb". But I saw only positive reactions. Because album is really good. There is a good Russian proverb- " trouble shows You friends".
