I don´t know, if this is "new" but: Regarding to the German Metal Hammer the release-date for the next U.D.O.-record (yet untitled) will be 12.04.2013.
On the one hand I`m not really interested in the B.A.N.D. as much as in the past...but on the otherhand, we are talking about Udo - the voice -...and the new guitar-player seems to be at least from technical-point not bad at all. But we will see, what he is able (and allowed) to bring in the band (songwriting for this record - no chance...perhaps on the following one)
Cheers

Udo is doing a duet with Marco Hietala (Tarot, Nightwish). The song is First To Go - Last to Know and the band comes from Finland. The name of the band is Lazy Bones. www.facebook.com/LazyBonezOfficialit is out now, I'm just listening it on Spotify.

@ John and Mika: Thank you very much for your kind words!!!
By the way: In the guestbook-section Maikel told that 12.04. was planned as a release-date...but it will NOT be the release-date (the reason why weren`t mentioned)

Rikke: What is your first impression? (There's no Spotify in Hungary...) @joachim: Yes I saw that in the guestbook. So the release date won't be the birthday of Luna

This is from the fan magazin :
Has the split up with Stefan come as a surprise to you or has it been looming lately?
It didn’t really come as a surprise. Because … The split up did not occur because we were not on the same page anymore musically, it happened due to health reasons. While we were working on “Rev-Raptor” we took a three month break during the production. His problems were very severe and he was barely able to move. After this short break it worked out fairly ok but after the last tour which ended up lasting almost a year it was obvious that it was a torture for Stefan. It’s not really fun not being able to move about as you wish on stage. That was the end result of it all. Stefan doesn’t do himself a favor nor do we anymore. The situation now is that Stefan will find himself and think about his future. As he mentioned to me, he wants to go further into the video sector. Whatever he wants to do, I’m sure the time out will be good for him. Also in the sense of finding his way forward. We have offered him to continue working for U.D.O. in the background. Be it for live recordings or other projects. As he is not on tour anymore, he has more time to focus on that. However, it also means that he is not taking part on the new album in any way, nor as producer nor composer. He is, as they call it, left out. That gives us remaining ones (laughs) a new way of working. Though it was a bit chaotic at the beginning. When we were looking for a new guitarist we didn’t want to put a Stefan Kaufmann-clone on stage. We wanted the new man to have a totally different premiss. The new guy will be a big surprise to many but we will talk about details on that later. We are very happy with him and I think we are creating a great album. No offence to Stefan, but the end result will be … a bit different. New and different influences will be heard and quite a few things will happen that no one really expects.
