to phill - i`m lonely defender of the U.D.O. music here now and i like to be here very much! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) If you don`t like, stay and writing on the wall! U.D.O. is very good band and i still say like this: after 10 years from now you say celebrator was good ! Remember Udo no play forever and each cd like this can be last. Pawel I hope it's not the last. I hope the last one will be a killer album with real METAL on it!

BTW; the drumsound on Mastercutor is crystal clearly different than on Dominator/Rev-Raptor. Excluding the songs Walker Of The Dark, Master OF Disaster or what ever the name was. Actually the drum sound on Mastercutor is quite close to the live sound of the UDO drums.
live:
So to me Mastercutor had the best drum sound of the 2nd era.

After a little while I can say that I enjoy Celebrator to a certain degree. I really hope that after Stafan has worked on some old tracks without Rev-raptorizing them, the next studio album will sound better.

Because here on this forum there is one guy who doesn't use Facebook, I will show you one discussion on U.D.O. fans worldwide, and this is about Celebrator: "I expected the album - I'm disappointed" "Oh..why¿?I'm listening now more songs that we already had but with another small touch..." "Me too!" Zoltan: "Ladies and Gentleman, don't take me wrong but I'm much disappointed with Rev-Raptor too, I expected nothing, and expect nothing in the future, if this "disco metal trend" stays..." Jeno: "it seems to me that U.D.O. is history music wise ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ,They should take a rest for a while to recharge drained batteries with fresh ideas ! I'm sick of these cartoon themes !" Csaba: "Disappointments again and again. I'm an old fan of .U.D.O., I'm an adult thus I can't love this "modernized" tech-no-metal sound, the childish lirycs and the same song structures. I'm sick and tired of the Tor-era ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) " "I"m so sorry, but agree with my friends Jeno and Csaba.Sad,but true!" "And the cover of the cd is the highlight of iceberg. So nasty!" "From the 97 that will draw "Solid", until 2011 with "Rev Raptor", are 9 albums in 15 years! Not bad, folks! Rest¿?I also miss the music less mechanized and more metal sound. And less chorus! The cover photo is not important, I want them to continue taking more music! I do not understand the lyrics of their songs, the music comes to me otherwise different. Live concerts, need in my life UDO! ♥ I'm sure that the best, is coming!" Me: "I can't agree more with you guys. Monika, I agree with gigs, they are really good live when Francesco can play like he wants! and Udo's voice is better than in years. Some years ago i waited and waited a long time to hear new stuff by the B.A.N.D. but nowadays I am not. But still I really hope, and hope dies last, that the next album won't end with -tor, won't have a green comic cover, won't have drumcomputers, won't have too much backing vocals and will have great lyrics. After some disappoinments, U.D.O. still is my second favourite band. (used to be the first with A, but not anymore)"

Because here on this forum there is one guy who doesn't use Facebook... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Just read those posts some minutes ago and was surprised... Even the ones that guarded the band with tooth and nail to outrance seem to be fed to the neck now...

hi everybody, I am a U.D.O. Fan since 1991, so you can all me old-school fan. of course the last records have not the same sound as the 80's stuff or early 90's. but the records are not so bad as all. I like a lot of the songs from the last three records. and I think "Celebrator" is a good compilation, some new stuff (which are really good), some remixes and some rare stuff. it's ok, fine.
ok, the concept with "-tor" ending every records and the covers I am not so into that, but I don't care.
I am looking forward to every new release of U.D.O. ...some will be good, some not...but's ok.
what you wanna d`? discussing the sounds, covers and conept for the next 10 years? ...c'mon. don't buy the records, listen to old ones, if you don't like the new ones.
go to the live-shows, they are still killers on stage.
Rock on, and let's celebrate U.D.O. Anniversary
see yaa

that's exactly what i've done!!! i only have purchased the early albums and not the newer ones (except mastercutor vinyl). but the song writing is just so bad now. all the songs sound the same. all the half-time break downs before the chorus, all the 715 person choir singing over the greatest voice in heavy metal is not my idea of what i want to listen to. the same boring fake drums and drum fills over and over. ugh. igor not being allowed to rip it up on the solo's. these are reasons why i don't buy the new stuff. there is no creativity.
i certainly look forward to hearing Udo's voice on new stuff, but it's the overall sound of the albums that kill me and someone else said it here too, it hurts my head to listen to this stuff and makes me tired from just listening. then a song by any other band comes on and it's sounds so open and free and refreshing!!!
IT'S SO FRUSTRATING TO WATCH MY VOCAL HERO GO DOWN THIS PATH!!!!!!!!!!

The change of band members would be in order...and keeping Kaufmann away from producing.

I haven't bought anything since Leatherhead and though I have everything from Animal House to Dominator, I don't listen to the newer stuff because it causes me pain. But hope you don't mind if I have my opinion and I tell it here on this forum... Since this is the only place where noone deletes my posts.

so while listening to mission no. x today (for some d**ned reason) i heard Eye Of The Eagle and the whoa ho ho part made me want to puke just like the whoa ho ho part in on of the scrap metal songs on celebrator. it's so weak and useless. why do they do that?! i have to say though, it's been so long since i've listened to this album that it's like listening to a new album. at least the production hasn't killed this album as bad as the -tor albums. i'm not saying i like it, i'm just saying i didn't think it could get worse than this album, and it appears that it did! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Well, I think UDO isn't the only one usin these oh-oh-oh...aaah, aah...for example Accept uses these...on Stalingrad song there is this aah, aah, like on Balls To The Wall song. BTW, when some years ago I wanted to find some power metal bands...the puke reaction came where there was this oh-oh-oh...almost in every song I heard. Then I heard Brainstorm's Hollow Hideaway and it was so different from all the other that I fell in love with that band. Sorry about the sidetrack... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
